As you can see, we have an incredible variety and selection of one of a kind pottery . We’ve been in business for 41 years here in SonomaCounty and we’re thrilled to welcome the public into our showroom and Studio. See where the magic happens and if you ask me to do a demo, I’d happily oblige.

Having been trained in Japan for six years. My technique is specific and unique. The result is Pottery that we hope is solid and beautiful. Our work extremely high quality and is both functional and decorative, Being accessibly priced is of paramount importance to us . Unlike most contemporary ceramicists, we do not fire our work in an electric kiln. We use old-school gas as we believe it offers results that are more in keeping with our vision.

Both Mikio and I are unbelievably grateful. Well over 250 people stopped by our studio last weekend and hundreds of pots found homes. So happy that we had enough work in the studio to fire one more time. In this kiln, there will be lots of large bowls vases and one more Green Lantern. (sorry to those who missed that last weekend) a new tiny green lantern as well!

One more week till Art Trails open Studio tour and will be firing this 24 cubic foot two times before then and once in between the two weekends. We’ve been busy, and there’s so much new work.
Fingers crossed that the firings are good!

Just for fun take a shot and guess how many pots are in this kiln. The only hint I’ll give you is that there are actually three of Mikio‘s giant lanterns which are each fired in two pieces and they take up a lot of space in the kiln. But that said I really do know how to pack them in.🤓 the person who guess is closest will win prize. It’ll probably be a pot. Probably a mug. But who knows! It never ceases to amaze me how many variations exist in the land of shape. The smallest little details, a slight change in proportion, a different angle to the rim, a different height of the foot, a different placement of the curve, all of these little details are in my mind. The possibilities are endless.
