Did you know that any substance used damages the reward pathway in your brain. That pathway is responsible for how your body reacts to pleasure even the simple pleasure of hope beatify a night sky looks, an afternoon sunset, being happy around your children and family among many other things. The longer you use the more damage a substance will do. It can cause cognitive issues, blood flow issues, and disruption of serotonin levels. When we get sober everything feels like gloom and doom that’s why. Dependency has taken over the chemicals naturally produced and takes time to recover those things. The longer you use the longer it will take to heal. In my opinion sometimes they may not ever get back to a normal level but you will get to a place where everything feels almost normal. Thanks for letting me share 🫶🏼

Faith is believing in something you can’t see. That in terms of addiction is believe that someone wouldn’t give you a substance that would take your life, but so many times we trusted and lost the battle. Too many forever 21s or whatever that number may be. I was taught that the dash between our birthday and death date was the most important part of our tombstone. Why? Because everything in between those 2 dates mattered. That was your life and your story. Not the shape or the heart breaking picture left behind. Instead of having faith in the people who claim to love you feeding you substances that you don’t really know if it’s safe or not believe in Jesus because He is the only one that can save you. People will let you down even if they don’t mean to. But God, He is so faithful. He’s always there waiting patiently for you to open the door. That’s the true meaning of freedom. You can’t do it for anyone but yourself and you can’t do it without faith in something you can’t see.

Recovery begins with embracing the truth. The truth about ourselves, the truth about others' perceptions, and the truth about past experiences. By acknowledging our agency and accountability, we can break free from patterns that hold us back. As we sow positive seeds, we can cultivate a brighter future.

John 16:13 reminds us that the Spirit of truth will guide us toward a deeper understanding, illuminating the path forward and empowering us to create meaningful change.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

Let today be your day of truth with the Lord as we meditate on the good and bad things we have done. Holding ourself accountable helps truth our addiction to become free while replacing the negatives with a positive. The truth will set you free. Happy Sunday spend time with our Savior today to strengthen your recovery ♥️

God promises these things to the ones who struggle mentally and spiritually:

You Are Never Alone: God promises an unwavering presence. In Deuteronomy 31:8, He assures, "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Deliverance and Closeness: God is intimately near to those in pain. Psalm 34:18 promises, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."Rest for Your Mind: Jesus invites the weary to find relief. In Matthew 11:28, He says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

A Guard for Your Thoughts: God offers a profound sense of tranquility. Philippians 4:6-7 promises, "Do not be anxious about anything... And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Strength and Renewal: He offers the power to endure. Isaiah 41:10 declares, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help

Here are 2 more promises that God made to us. The word helps us through the mental hardship that addiction caused through our trauma. The word is the only way I’ve found to maintain a stable mind.

Rest from Burdens: You are invited to cast your cares on the Lord, with the promise that He will sustain you and not let you fall (Psalm 55:22).
Victory Over Fear: God provides a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind, allowing you to rise above overwhelming circumstances (2 Timothy 1:7).

Some encouraging words and promises from the Lord today:
Sometimes things happen beyond our control and we need to be uplifted in our spirit because our souls can be disturbed by our own insecurities while in recovery. I really hope these help you today like they have me 🫶🏼

When you are weak, God’s grace is sufficient, and His power works best in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

God declares you are fearfully and wonderfully made, handcrafted with purpose, rather than defined by past mistakes or insecurities (Psalm 139:14, Ephesians 2:10).

You are empowered to face the future with confidence rather than fear, as you are valued as a daughter of God (Proverbs 31:25).

Good morning everyone! Today’s verse and meditation will be Isaiah 12:2

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”

The only way I’ve been able to stay sober is by meditation of the word! Remember you are loved, you are worthy, and you are worth full price. Jesus didn’t go after the “perfect” people he sat with the sinners and went the the woman at the well. She had 5 different husbands and the one she was with at the time was not her husband. We are not discarded because of our mistakes only recognized by our sin.

The Lord doesn’t call the qualified He qualifies the called. Do you struggle with being left out? Being the black sheep? Struggle to be heard? That’s because light cannot live in the darkness. Let this be your sign today to Stay Another Day keep pushing forward into your sobriety and recovery! You are loved and I’m proud of every minute you are sober even when your mental health doesn’t reflect that.

We must change our thought patterns by being mindful of all our thoughts. Replacing those thoughts with positive affirmations. Every minute counts.
