Tried to do things the respectful way.

We looked at a storefront in town that happened to be in the same building as a game shop. I even reached out directly beforehand to explain that we focus on comics, vintage and graded PokĆ©mon, video games, vinyl records, and collectibles ā€” not the tabletop stuff or Magic the Gathering they specialize in. I was told there wouldnā€™t be an issue.

Turns out they told the property owners they didnā€™t want us there because we were ā€œcompetition,ā€ and the space was denied to us.

So plans changed. Weā€™re still opening a store in townā€¦ but now we WILL BE carrying MTG and Warhammer too. And yes, weā€™ll be competitive on pricing.

We wanted to coexist. Instead, we got motivated.
