💫 The Cullinan Diamond: Earth's Greatest Sparkle
Imagine holding a diamond so massive it could fill the palm of your hand—and then some. That’s the Cullinan Diamond, the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever discovered, weighing a jaw-dropping 3,106 carats (that’s over 1.3 pounds of pure brilliance).

🗓️ Discovered in 1905 at the Premier Mine in South Africa, this behemoth was so large that the mine manager initially thought it was a prank. But it was very real—and very valuable.

🔪 The diamond was later cut into 105 individual stones, including the legendary Cullinan I, also known as the Great Star of Africa. At 530.4 carats, it remains the largest clear-cut diamond in the world and is proudly mounted in the Sovereign’s Sceptre—part of the British Crown Jewels.

💡 Fun Fact: The Cullinan was so big, it was believed to be just a fragment of an even larger stone that broke apart deep within the Earth’s mantle. Talk about cosmic bling!
