July 8 return home
Didn’t take very many pictures this day. Lol
We got up at 4:00am to get ready and walk a path down to catch our 5:15am train. We had 4 transfers that took us to the Milan Airport. And we had a couple hours to wait for our plane. Melissa and Jamie invited Summer and I in the lounge! Wow food and drinks nice place to sit! Felt pretty fancy!! Lol
We board our plane for Iceland, had about a 2 hour wait and ate some lunch. Then back on a plane to Seattle. But not before Melissa had a random tsa search. Lucky her!! Lol you think you are safe after passing security, think again lol
We had a long flight back to Seattle and a couple hour drive home. Got in my bed at 12:30am Sunday!! Now I have to get used to the time change all over again!! Lol

July 6th
Happy birthday Michelle Farmer!
The view from our room is amazing!! The day started out sunny!! Paraglides were outside our window landing! It was so cool! And the gondola runs right next to us!!
We eat breakfast and head down a train that takes you to the city where we got on a gondola and went up First mountain. We walked the Cliff Walk and walked 4 miles to a lake! The clouds had come and we hurried back had some lunch up there and on the way down it started to rain! We went shopping and had fondue for dinner!! The rain stopped finally when we headed back to our room. Very beautiful here and peaceful!! So amazing!!

July 4th
We left St. Motiz early to catch our train the Glacier Express, the slowest fast train! A 7 hour trip to Zermatt. We got a 3 course meal and great views. Our motel has a amazing view of the Matterhorn!! We walked around town and some Yummy dinner. Back at the motel we enjoyed a long soak in the hot tub!!

Day 9 July 2
We said goodbye to Cinque Terre
2 trains 1 bus and 7 hours later we made it to Tirano. Absolutely beautiful!! Next to Switzerland this place is full of cool old buildings. So green!! For dinner I had rack of lamb and pistachio crème brûlée!!
We walked around some before turning in for the night! Heading to Switzerland tomorrow!!!

Continuing July 1
We then got on another train to Monarola. Lots of cute shops the swimming area was small but not so far down. We had lunch there. Mussels again!! So yummy!! We headed back to Monterosso to go to the beach. So beautiful, I took a little nap! Dinner of spaghetti with salmon and zucchini. Last night in Cinque Terre, so sad to leave.

Day 8 July 1
Sun was shining!! ☀️ had some breakfast and took the train to see the 2 remaining villages. This is of Corniglia, a lot of stairs going up and more going down to the beach. We walked around and saw a cat, olive trees, a pomegranate tree, and of course, lots of lemon trees.

Day 6 June 29

Arrivederci Venice!! I will miss you!! What a great place! Now on to the train to Cinque Terre. It took 4 trains and 7 hours but we made it! So beautiful here. It is a province made up of 5 lands. We are at Monterosso by the Mediterranean Sea. We found our air bnb and changed to go exploring. We had a little lunch of cheese and fruit. Walked up a path to see spectacular views of the sea!!
Lots of cute shops and restaurants. We took lots of photos and later had dinner, I had the swordfish! Then of course some gelato after lol
Back to the room for a good nights sleep!!

Monday June 26
Day 3 Milan
Well not much to report this day. On our way to the food tour I got extremely sick. I think with the lack of food and sleep my body decided it had enough. I ended up taking a taxi back to the motel and slept. My friends got to finish the tour and go to the Il Duomo without me. They came back to the hotel later and we went out to eat. Took me 2 hours to eat my food because I felt horrible, but after getting some food in me I felt better and we found some Gelato!! I took a picture of the place I almost died at!! Lol
