Authentic Library Bureau Sole Makers Cabinet – Early 1900s we were told this piece came from DC. I believe originally used in the IRS building.. It is absolutely stunning! Truly a special piece of history! This is an authentic Library Bureau Sole Makers cabinet with the original maker’s stamp, dating to the early 1900s–1920s.
Crafted from solid quarter-sawn oak (often called “tiger oak”) It has its original brass pulls and label holders, adding to its authentic character and timeless appeal.
Founded by Melvil Dewey, creator of the Dewey Decimal System, the Library Bureau was the premier supplier of furnishings for many of America’s historic libraries, making these cabinets highly collectible today.
This cabinet features multiple card catalog drawers above a spacious lower storage compartment, making it both a stunning statement piece and a practical storage solution for today’s home.
