Ms. Sharon Walker will be hosting a book reading of Brainwashed by Tom Burrell on Thursday, September 26 at 2:00-3:00PM. The book will be free and available to read at the WCCS Library.
Book readings are just one of the many duties of Ms. Walker. She works with local authors, organizes book signings, and assist students regularly. She has also taught Introduction to Library Science. The course was helpful and aides students with research techniques that will be needed at 4 year universities. She aided in the setup of the library at the second campus, WCCS in Demopolis.
Sharon Walker sports 3 different degrees: a Master’s in Library Media, a Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management, and an Associate’s in Office Administration.
Sharon Walker worked under the leadership of Minnie Carstarphenson, who held the position for almost 20 years. Ms. Walker continues her work at the WCCS Library and although she is still Library Secretary and Acting Librarian since the retirement of Carstarphenson in 2021, she goes above and beyond her title because she is dedicated to the WCCS Library and has been for 17 years.
