Here’s a little peek at what gem mining looks like when you dig in 💎⛏️

1️⃣ Pick your bucket and get ready to see what’s hiding inside
2️⃣ Dump it into the sluice and start letting the water do its thing
3️⃣ First rinse—just breaking everything down and getting to the good stuff
4️⃣ Little by little, the gems start to show up ✨
5️⃣ Sorting through the finds and spotting the favorites
6️⃣ The “wait… is that one bigger?” moment 😄
7️⃣ Final haul—always more sparkle than you expect!

My son had the best time going through this bucket and finding all the treasures himself. It’s one of those simple things that turns into a really good memory 💕

We’ll be set up at upcoming festivals with our mobile gem mining sluice if you see us out, come try a bucket!

I’m Amber O’Dell, owner of Dogwood Farm and a local real estate agent serving Upstate South Carolina.

We’re a homeschooling family who stays pretty busy between everyday life and popping up at festivals and events with our mobile gem mining sluice 💎⛏️ We love being part of the community and giving families a fun way to slow down, dig in, and find a little treasure together.

At home, we’re usually making something in the kitchen like, small-batch jams, jellies, syrups, herbal remedies, tinctures, and tea blends. Just simple, homemade things we enjoy sharing.

And now I’ve also stepped into real estate, helping folks buy and sell here in our local area so whether you’re looking for land, a home, or just dreaming about a move, I’m happy to help with that too.

RockHounds! How adorable is the Oconee County Public Library summer reading program and events!!! Yesterday we had the pleasure of setting the sluice up in the Walhalla Library basement for some Gem Mining Fun! And we will be back up at the Salem Branch later in the month to host gem mining for toddlers! I'm so looking forward to that! The littlest babies get SO excited 🥳🥳🥳

Craft your own geode and gemstone cookies at the Westminster library. 🍪 Each attendee will get cookies to decorate and instructions on how to make them look like beautiful geodes. Ages 12-17.
