For now, Whiskers & Wares is closing its doors.
This is definitely not the post I ever wanted to have to make, and honestly, it’s a little bittersweet.
Whiskers & Wares became so much more than just a thrift store. It was a dream I had, something I poured my heart into, and something I worked incredibly hard to make happen. There were good days, hard days, busy days, slow days, lots of laughs, and probably more stress than I’d like to admit.
But if there is ONE thing I want to take away from all of this, it’s this:
My kids got to watch me set my mind to something and actually DO IT.
They got to watch me take an idea, work for it, struggle through the hard parts, keep going when things weren’t easy, and turn that idea into something real. And honestly, that means more to me than anything.
I hope my kids always remember that you don’t have to be afraid to dream big. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. Sometimes you just have to take that first step and believe in yourself enough to try.
And honestly, I hope Whiskers & Wares inspires other people to go for their dreams, too.
Don’t let the fear of failing stop you from trying. Even if things don’t turn out exactly how you imagined, you’ll still learn, grow, meet amazing people, make memories, and be able to say, “I tried.”
We met SO many amazing people through the store. Customers became familiar faces, conversations turned into friendships, and there are so many memories I will carry with me. We laughed, we joked, we had fun, and there were so many moments that made all the hard work worth it.
So while this chapter is closing, I don’t want anyone to think this is necessarily goodbye forever. This probably isn’t the end of Whiskers & Wares. Sometimes you just have to close one door, take a step back, and figure out what comes next.
Thank you to every single person who walked through our doors, made a purchase, donated something, stopped to chat, shared a post, supported us, or simply believed in what we were trying to do.
Thank you for being part of our story.
Whiskers & Wares may be closing for now, but the memories, friendships, lessons, and love we built there aren’t going anywhere.
And who knows… maybe someday you’ll see those doors open again.
This isn’t goodbye. It’s just “see you later.”
