Had a great time shooting at the USPSA match at the Kenai Snowshoe Gun Club. I managed to take 2nd place in limited optics. This was my best stage.

Just had another great weekend shooting at the Snowshoe gun club. For anyone on the fence about pistol optics. Consider this. I shot the state steel challenge match in Kenai two of the guns I shot were identical pistols 2011 style one with a red dot đź”´ and one without. My red dot time was 133.21 limited optics and 154.19 limited which is iron sights. That is over a 20 second difference over the course of the match. A pistol red dot is a game changer in my opinion. I have them on my carry guns. They do take some training to get used to but once you get your draw down they are Awsome.

Thank you for your courage.

The NRA recognizes the brave man who took action to stop a truly despicable act from going any further in Idaho.

Unfortunately, evil will rear its ugly head, making it crucial that good, law-abiding citizens have the means to take action when it matters most.

I have found competition shooting to be a great way to improve your skill. You have helpful people around to coach you. There is that friendly competition between friends that makes you want to do better.

Range report. 7-24-26. I shot my 6 shot R***r gp100 and my Smith and Wesson 686 mountain gun. Both have 4 inch barrels. The R***r is stock except for a fiber optic front sight. The smith also has a fiber optic front. It also has a TK custom’s lighten hammer spring and a extended firing pin. I haven’t weighed it but the smith trigger feels better. All shooting was done double action. Targets were steel from 10 yards to 16 yards. I swapped plates out. I have 15 inches and 12 inches for the 4 front plates at 10 and 12 yards. The plate at 16 yards was my stop plate in all the drills. Sometimes I used a small 6 inch plate then later moved to a 12 inch with 18 inch plates in front of it.

I used the same holster for both guns. It was a outside the waist band leather holster I got with the R***r.

The ammo was various full power reloads using h110 and 125 grain 135 grain and 140 grain jacketed hollowpoints. Today was 74 degrees which is warm for her. I didnt use mag primers with h110 like your supposed to. I read it’s fine so long as its not cold out when you shoot and you have a firm crimp. Had zero issues with the ammo. I fixed the issue on the rest of my 357 mags with h110 but wanted to shoot this stuff up on a warm day. Got some blisters doing it. Burned through 360 rounds.

Stage 1. 4 12 inch targets at 10 yards and 12 yards. Stop plate in middle was 6 inches.

The sti is shooting sub minor steel loads at 750 for a 150 grain blue coated bullet from a double alpha race holster so it’s not a fair comparison but still fun.

Those full power loads took there toll. On my hand causing some blisters. Had a lot of fun.

If anyone wants to join me to work on their pistol skills using my steel targets let me know.

Well Resurection Bay Guns first ccw class was a success. I learned some things as an instructor as this was the first ccw class I taught. Everyone seemed to have fun despite the rain. My next class is August 29th and 30th. If I get more than 10 people I will break the shooting portion into two groups in different days. That worked well this time. The classroom portion will be at the American Legion from 12 to 5 pm. The shooting will be the following day at the range from 9am to 4 pm. Here are some photos from both range days.

You need 300 rounds of ammo, a belt holster, belt and a spare ammo carrier. I have loaner gear and guns if needed. I will be charging a $75 deposit. Contact me at +19073605481 by call or text and we can meet up for payment or you can mail a check or money order to
