Heads Up: the Illinois spring trout season opens Saturday April 4. We will have nightcrawlers, red worms, minnows, and wax worms in stock. Local opportunities to trout fish include Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville, the I&M Canal Lock 14 in LaSalle, Lake Mendota in Mendota, and new this year Lake Atwood in Crystal Lake.

Shabbona Lake ice report as of 2pm Mon. 3/2:

Lake has opened up and ice is spotty. 3” of ice in no motor zone but shrinking. This limit of crappie and bluegill was caught between 10am and 1pm today, so still opportunities to get out.
