Shards & Light - stained glass Stained/Art Glass and fused glass is my passion I was always curious about stained glass pieces. Unless of course the unthinkable occurs, and it gets broke. YES!

How were they made, and thinking this is something that can stick around long after the person who created the piece! In 2001 I took my first glass class, and ever since then it has snowballed! I now have 2 full sized glass racks with partitions, that are separating colors of glass. I recently added 2 kilns to the workshop, and dabble in fusing COE 96 glass too. Sometimes incorporating a fused piece in a stained glass panel. I love the vibrant colors glass has to offer, the longevitity of a creation, and the greatest reward? When someone likes one of my pieces enough to purchase it! and says 'your pieces are so different'. I have achieved my mission! LOL

On my work bench. Put together this morning ready to be soldered. Flowers were painted with glass enamels, detail done with a crow quill. Fired, colors added and fired again. Background behind the flowers from a part sheet I made using glass powder, then fired. Now sandwiched background and top layer flowers, copper foiled, ready! Love the yummy teal glass!
