MEET THE SANCHEZ FAMILY IN COSTA RICA

For the past several years Josue and his wife, Nikki, have dedicated their time and efforts to work intentionally with a smaller group of kids in La Carpio, Costa Rica. They decided to reach a smaller number of people to bear fruits in a "faster" way.

They are part of an organization called Christ For the City International and through your giving, CFCI’s team in Costa Rica is equipping people in struggling communities with new skills — sewing, carpentry, cosmetology, baking — and new hope.

It’s more than training; it’s transformation.

Each class opens doors for families to build sustainable futures while discovering the love of Christ.

Every sale and donation at 256 Thrift Center helps make this possible — turning generosity here into opportunity there.

Every piece of clothing on our sales floor has a story before it ever reaches the rack.

First, it was generously donated.

Then it's sorted, inspected for quality, placed on a hanger, and stocked on the sales floor, ready for someone else to give it a new home.

It may seem like a simple process, but it takes time, care, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work to keep our clothing department full and organized.

We're grateful for the staff and volunteers who faithfully serve in ways most shoppers never see, and for every donor who makes this ministry possible.

Every purchase helps support local outreach and global missions. Come and shop with us today!

BEHIND THE SCENES: Clothing

Ever wonder how clothing moves from donation bags to the sales floor so quickly?

At 256 Thrift, we use standard pricing across most items rather than individually pricing every single piece.

Why?
Because it allows us to:
• process donations more efficiently
• keep racks full and fresh
• and get items out to shoppers without long delays

At the same time, we do set aside certain items to be priced individually when they have higher value. This helps us steward donations well and maximize the support they can provide for the mission.

As always, we do our best to check items for quality before they hit the floor—but we encourage shoppers to give items a quick look as well.

Thank you for your support and being a part of what makes 256 Thrift work.

MISSIONARY PARTNER HIGHLIGHT

Meet The Etheredges, missionaries with TCE Missions.

Their mission is to train believers to live out God’s calling, beginning in their homes and extending into their churches, communities, and ultimately to the ends of the earth.

Their heart is to see the body of Christ:
• Well trained through discipleship
• Well equipped with the knowledge of the Gospel
• Sent out for Kingdom work by the power of the Holy Spirit

Through intentional teaching and discipleship, they are helping raise up believers who are ready to serve wherever God calls them.

When you shop or donate at 256 Thrift, you are helping support mission work like the Etheredges’.

Every purchase and every donation helps carry the Gospel forward.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Sheree

Almost every Monday since 256 Thrift opened, Sheree has faithfully shown up to serve.

She helps process donations, clean, assist customers, and jump in wherever she is needed. Whether she is sorting through bags and boxes, helping someone find the perfect item, or simply keeping busy behind the scenes, Sheree brings joy and care to the work.

When asked what keeps her coming back, she said, “I love the people I get to work with and help. It is my happy place. I'm glad they let me come play every week.”

That joy is easy to see.

Sheree says she sees God working through the thrift store every day, from morning prayer to customers coming in for encouragement, help, or simply the peaceful atmosphere.

Sheree, thank you for your faithfulness, your servant’s heart, and the joy you bring to 256 Thrift.

Volunteers like you help make this ministry possible. 💛

Meet Dwayne — 256 Thrift Center Director

Dwayne is our 256 Thrift Center Director, and he brings a huge heart into everything he does. He’s great with people, quick to listen, and genuinely loves connecting with customers and team members alike. He has a way of making people feel seen, valued, and welcomed—often with a little humor mixed in.

He’s also known for being a bit goofy and never missing an opportunity to make someone laugh. That lightheartedness goes a long way, especially on hard days.

Behind the scenes, Dwayne is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to pricing, vintage items, and online resale. His experience helps us steward donations wisely and make thoughtful decisions that support the mission of the store.

But at the heart of it all, Dwayne sees this place as more than a thrift store. He sees it as a place to minister to people—through conversation, encouragement, prayer, and presence.

We’re grateful for his leadership, his laughter, and the care he brings to 256 Thrift every single day.

Let's show Dwayne some love in the comments!

Receiving notes like this encourages our entire team because they remind us that the little things matter...a warm greeting, a helping hand, a friendly conversation, or simply taking the time to care.

Our prayer is that every person who walks through our doors feels welcomed, valued, and loved.

Thank you for your kind words and for being part of the 256 Thrift family. Together, we're able to serve our community and support missions in ways that are bigger than any one of us could accomplish alone.

"He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted... to comfort all who mourn... to give them beauty for ashes... They shall rebuild the old ruins."
Isaiah 61:1-4

One of the beautiful truths of the Gospel is that God's work doesn't end with restoring hearts.

He also restores hope. He restores purpose. He restores community.

Isaiah paints a picture of people who have been comforted by God becoming people who help rebuild what has been broken.

That's our prayer for 256 Thrift.

That this would be more than a place to shop or donate. That it would be a place where hope is shared, dignity is restored, and lives are pointed toward the One who makes all things new.

May we be faithful to plant seeds, serve with compassion, and trust God to bring the growth.

🌏 MISSION HIGHLIGHT

At 256 Thrift, we believe stewardship means using what’s been given to bring freedom, dignity, and hope where it’s most needed.

That’s why a portion of the profits from this store help support mission partners like Set Free Alliance—a ministry working to bring freedom through clean water, rescue, evangelism, church planting, and discipleship in vulnerable communities around the world.

Every donated item processed and every purchase made helps fund work that goes far beyond our walls—work that restores lives and strengthens communities.

Set Free Alliance is just one of several missionary partners supported through 256 Thrift, and your support helps make possible.

This is why we’re here:
to steward resources well,
to give together,
and to take part in something bigger for the Kingdom.

Thank you for being part of this work! We love and are thankful for every customer, donor, volunteer and staff member!
