The fine folks from Part 1 Printing stopped by and restocked our new front window display today. So many cool figures and corner boxes! And this is just the beginning of what they have planned for the space.

Part 1 is unique in the 3D-printing realm because they build their own designs from start to finish. They actually take requests, like when Ye Olde Shopkeep asked for an Absolute Batman.

So, what do you think, Gozarians? Who would you like to see in the windows next?

Here’s your first look at our new flyer for Batman Day, which is happening on Saturday, September 19th. Sure, we’ll be giving away free copies of Batman of Two Worlds, but we’ll also have a raffle for some Batman-themed merch and a sale on Bat-items of all sorts.

After an amazing weekend of sales, comics, and conversations, we all deserve a brand new Top 10. We've already talked about everything else!

Here we go, and as always, remember that this list is based ONLY on sales at the shop:

10. MASK #4: Sales are climbing for this title as readers discover how the story fits into the Energon Universe.

9. Doom Patrol #1: The first of three new DC titles to make the list this week. This one is a vote for weirdness!

8. Teen Titans #1: Red Hood isn't the biggest driver of sales, but he has a contingent of fans that always show up for anything new.

7. Absolute Green Lantern #18: This book got a little bump this week, along with everything else GL-related in the shop. People seem to like the new show.

6. Captain America #15: Zdarsky books get better and better as they go along.

5. Legion of Superheroes #1: Speaking of loyal fans, whenever there's a new LoSH title I see people at the shop that I haven't seen in years.

4. Batman Superman Weird Al World's Weirdest #1: Yes, please. More books like this are always welcome!

3. Daredevil #6: Such a good series so far! DD fans seem totally onboard.

2. Absolute Superman #23: Speaking of writers who get better as the story develops, check out what Jason Aaron's up to. Any other week, this would have easily placed at the top sopt, but then there's....

1. Batman #13: Jeesh, talk about your steamrollers! This is another series that picks up new readers with every issue.

Our Hidden Gem of the Week could have been any of several books that were one or two issues from making the list, but we'll go with Crowbound, from Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen, the team behind two all-time favorites, Descender and Ascender. Beautiful work!

Tune in tonight at 8 to check out all the contenders for the next Top 10, and also maybe, just maybe, get a preview of our next flyer, assuming Ye Olde Shopkeep can find another five minutes to devote to either his "art" or his "Craft" today.

Mr. Benci and the rest of the staff have been working incredibly hard, keeping the shop afloat while the lunatic that runs the place races around doing whatever it is that he does. So, we’ll be closed today while everyone takes a break to spend time with their families and get a little relaxation before the next series of projects begin.

Ye Olde Shopkeep, however, who remembers when the word “break” was still “brecan,” will have to settle for semi-relaxing at home for the Comicpalooza Day 3 After-Party. He’ll be in the garage from 10-1, and he’ll start by sorting some books that are headed to the shop while we continue planning for Batman Day on September 19th.

We hope everyone enjoys a great day. The weather is beautiful here in the NEO, where we’re having one of the 10 perfect days we get each year—5 in the spring and 5 in the fall. We’ll take a little time to remember all the brave people who literally went out and fought for our rights to have moments like these. True heroes, every one.

A lot of dealers say they’re always buying, but this is a new one, even for Ye Olde Shopkeep; he woke up this morning and bought comics IN HIS GARAGE.

Get it together, Shopkeep! You’re supposed to be selling things!

Comicpalooza, Day 2! Labor Day Weekend Sale: Day 3! It’s going to be an amazing Sunday!

Remember, Gozarians, this is the last day of our shop sale; after the incredible week you’ve delivered, the staff needs a break. We’ll be closed on Monday so everyone can rest and recover.

Except for Ye Olde Shopkeep, who was born on a time before “rest” existed: instead, he’ll be in the garage for Comicpalooza Day 3, bagging and boarding and probably maybe actually reading a few comics. After all these years, reading is still his favorite thing to do.

Gozarians, you guys hit the shelves and boxes pretty hard today at both locations, but have no fear! We popped the lids on some back room reserves, moved some of this and that from here to there, and we’re completely restocked and ready to go for tomorrow’s festivities.

The shop is open tomorrow from 12-4, and Ye Olde Shopkeep will be in the garage at Comicpalooza from 9-3, pricing new books to bring back to homebase as we get ready for our next bit of insanity…Batman Day on September 19th!

Oh, you didn’t know about Batman Day? That’s when you can stop by the shop and pick up your FREE copy of Batman of Two Worlds, with even more surprises to come. Stay tuned!

A second thank you goes out to the Gozarians this week; we had an amazing first day of our Labor Day Weekend sale, and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow and Sunday brings our way.

Plus, it’s Comicpalooza Eve! Time for all good little readers to go to bed and dream of keys, grails, completing runs, and finding the next favorite book for your collection.
