CatieBeth Thomas Designs

CatieBeth Thomas Designs Thank you for visiting my page! CB Thomas Designs is an exploration in nature inspired art. After graduating with a B.A.

in Art Theory, minors in Studio Art and Psychology, I had a life changing emergency surgery due to complications with my Crohn's disease. From that point, I had to prioritize my health. I started working with fiber arts as I recovered from surgery and became immediately immersed in the possibilities with fiber art. I started teaching classes in 2015 and have online courses and kits available on my

Etsy shop. I am continually working on weavings and print works. All the pieces I create are one of a kind. I love color and working with paint and fiber allows me the freedom to dye everything by hand any color I choose! I use all natural dyes and get all fiber locally or ethically.

Excited to be BACK at MTSU in Todd Hall tomorrow from 12:00 - 2:00 pm facilitating a Weaving Workshop using Reclaimed Materials! Our class filled up quickly and I appreciate those who signed up. We will work on getting another workshop scheduled soon for anyone who missed this one.

Thank you Eric Snyder for asking and organizing this for us! We will be in the same room, 236, and there is elevator access! Park in the Jones parking lot.

Participants are welcome to bring reclaimed materials to work with! I also have plenty of fabric options, but if you have any old clothing, plastic bags or netting, art or paper goods, dried plants (real or faux), etc., bring them to weave!

Very cool Youth Art event at The Fly Arts Center in April!!

"Murals 101" with artist Mya Starr
Ever looked at a giant, colorful wall in your city and wondered, "How did they do that?" Every masterpiece starts with a single spark of an idea—and we want to help you find yours!
We’re calling all creators aged 6 to 18. Whether you’ve been painting for years or you’ve never picked up a brush, if you have a dream to see your art "go big," this workshop is for you.
Join us at the Fly Arts Center basement for an afternoon of imagination and color. We are thrilled to host Murals 101, a hands-on workshop led by the incredibly talented local artist Mya Starr.
Mya will walk you through the "secret sauce" of mural making: The Concept Drawing. You’ll learn how to take a tiny doodle from your sketchbook and transform it into a vision that can fill an entire wall.
For more information, please visit the Youth Visual Arts webpage at The Fly Arts Center: https://www.flyartscenter.com/youthvisualarts

Looking forward to painting with you all tonight from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Linebaugh, Rutherford County Library System! I bring all the supplies and set the theme, but as always, bring whatever you're working on! Our theme this month is "Pathways" and I'll read Robert Frosts poem, "A Road Note Taken" to kick us off.

If you have supplies, paper, etc. you want to work on, or a specific photo, bring them! If not, I'll have some books for inspiration and we'll discuss creating perspective in landscapes. See you all tonight! Thanks to the 15 who already responded; there's just a few spots left., RSVP here https://forms.gle/u6ZibJR2R4JGwQaf7
