Some pretty flowers to catch your eye and hopefully turn your attention to something a little more serious.
π As we're approaching our second birthday here on Cota Street, I'm thinking about all the other businesses that have made an impact in our success. I'm SO thankful for the energy that exists in this tiny little corner. We are out here, creating spaces, beauty, food, beer, music, and (as I'm sure you're tired of hearing) it's a hard time to be a small business, even when everything is going smoothly.
πWe rely on the community to actively choose to support small businesses, even if it does cost more than going to a chain store. That's the reality of being the little guy. We don't have the buying power of a big chain, we don't have CEO salaries, and some don't have any salary at all.
π Watching independent businesses in our nearby towns shut their doors while the world welcomes its first trillionaire is incredibly disheartening, and I guess I just want to say, you don't know what you got (till it's gone). π¨
πLet's keep downtown Shelton a place where independent businesses can thrive. Every bit counts, and if you're (still) reading this, thank you.
XOXO-HF
