🍬 SWEET FINDS. LESS WASTE. MORE COMMUNITY IMPACT. 💚

Ever looked at a snack’s “best by” date and wondered what it really means? This CBS report offers a helpful explanation! 👇

At Second Chance Suite of Central Michigan, our candy and snacks may be near or past their freshness dates. We’re upfront about that because you deserve to know what you’re buying.

📅 “Best by” generally refers to peak flavor and quality—not an automatic safety cutoff. Proper storage and package condition still matter, and flavor or texture can change over time.

🔎 We personally check products when they arrive and routinely check our shelves. Our policy is to pull candy and snacks more than six months past their freshness dates—and sooner if we identify packaging damage or quality concerns. Six months is our maximum, not a guarantee of safety or quality.

♻️ Giving these products another chance helps reduce waste.
🛍️ Affordable prices help stretch your budget.
💚 Shopping with us helps support our local nonprofit mission.

Have a question about an item or a quality concern? Please talk with us—we want you to feel comfortable with your purchase!
