Today's Author Highlight is Kevin David!

Kevin David has built a life shaped by service, curiosity, and a love of storytelling. He served in the United States Marine Corps and then with Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He graduated from Shepherd University in 2022 and is now a Special Education teacher. When he isn’t writing or teaching, he enjoys cheering on the University of Maryland, riding his motorcycle, and unwinding with a good movie.

Over the next few days, we are going to continue highlighting the Featured Authors joining us for Shepherdstown StreetFest on June 6th! There will be some pretty amazing local authors in attendance, so be sure to mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss them.

And we have another community member book recommendation for y’all!

We’ve always been told “don’t judge a book by its cover” and yet, sometimes the cover is exactly what draws us in! Personally, the fact that it’s the “love and tacos” series was all I needed to hear, but if you are looking for a spicy, enemies-to-lovers romance that will have you laughing and swooning, look no further.

While it’s the second in a series, they are standalones so you are welcome to jump in at whatever point you want! Each book is a feminist, latine retelling of a well known classic, but we will leave it up to you to discover which one is which. đŸ€­

Today's Author Highlight is Jim Antonini!

JIM ANTONINI is an award-winning author from West Virginia who has written six books published by PUMP FAKE PRESS.

His latest book, co-authored with Suzanne Reynolds, “SOMETIMES ORANGE IS ALMOST GOLD,” captures the colorful and hilarious exploits of a group of orange-clad outcasts on their futile two-decade quest for softball glory. Part softball team. Part social club. Part mythology. But mostly failure. Nobody loses better than the Chico’s Bail Bonds softball team–the forever doormats of adult softball in a college town in the hills of West Virginia.

Today's Author Highlight is S. James McLaughlin!

Sarah James McLaughlin is a true-crime author and investigative storyteller whose work exposes criminal cases. She co-authored The WVU Coed Murders: Who Killed Mared and Karen? and co-produces Appalachian Mysteria, a podcast dedicated to the region’s most tangled and unresolved Appalachian stories.

She is the current host of The Opportunist, which centers on abuses of power, exploitation, and manipulation. She previously hosted Vigilante during its 2024 season.

Only 9 days until Shepherdstown StreetFest!

Today's Author Highlight is E. R. Munley!

E.R. Munley has been crafting stories since she was able to tell them. An avid reader and advocate, she has been working for over a decade to build young readers as a high school English teacher in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. All things considered, becoming a published author herself was almost inevitable.

Having grown up in the Baltimore Metro Area, she is an avid fan of the Orioles and Ravens, no matter the number of heart attacks or heartbreaks. When she isn't writing, she enjoys traveling with her husband (though she is a devoted indoor cat) or snuggling up with her dogs.

Erin Rose is the pen name of co-authors/best friends Katie Erin and Katie Rose. Lovers of all things Romance and advocates for mental health, you can expect to find hard-won happily ever afters in their stories. They currently live in Shepherdstown, WV, with their respective husbands, children, and dogs.
