We have some much anticipated book clubs coming up this week (which WILL STILL BE MEETING AT THE STORE) in the midst of a really exciting re-design and reorganization plan happening Monday-Thursday.

While the store will be closed to the public the first half of the week, we really think you are going to love the changes we are making and how the new layout is going to create more space for community gatherings and accessible events.

In-progress pictures, videos, and other teasers will be showing up in our stories this week, so be sure to check our socials regularly if you want a sneak peak!

We had such a great time discussing “Game On” by .allen last evening! If you’re a romance reader in the panhandle area, you will absolutely want to mark your calendar for our next L***y Literature meeting on September 11th when we will be talking about “Under Loch and Key” by 🫶🏼

And be sure to come out today for Bookstore Romance Day! All Romance and Romantasy will be 10% off, we will have a bookish makers market upstairs from 1–4pm and a costume contest for favorite book trope (one winner selected in store and another online over the next week).

If you are looking to read more non-fiction but want a more engaging style of story telling than you may normally find in traditional books, you may want to mark your calendars for September 1st and join our Unfictionables Book Club next month! They will be reading and discussing "To Obama, with love, joy, anger, and hope" and if you've been in a reading slump or feeling like fiction is all you have bandwidth for becasue of the heaviness of the world, this may be the perfect book to try out next.

Annie has some great things to say about this book and is so eager to talk about it in a few weeks, so we hope we will

We had such a lovely conversation with Chip Pons about “Dearly Departed” for Pages of PRIDE this evening. Chip was so warm and honest as we talked about grief, found family, the beauty of q***r joy, and the creative use of shadows in the bedroom.

We had a wonderful time walking around town this morning, listening to our respective audiobooks (or music), and occasionally chatting about nothing in particular. We had very different things happening in each of our headphones but all ultimately enjoyed the hour we spent taking in Shepherdstown and sunshine while making a dent in our Libro.fm Audiobooks audiobooks.

I know a number of people planned to come out but were t able to make it. We are going to be doing it again on September 13th @ 8:00am (maybe making it a monthly thing) so we hope to see you there!

We have an exciting week coming up with some book clubs at new times, and author zoom, and then… Bookstore Romance Day!

Whether you’re looking for historical, romance, sci-fi, or a mix, we have some great book club options for you this week! Plus, we have the fabulous Chip Pons joining us on Wednesday to talk all things “Dearly Departed!”

Join us for our Bookish Vendor Fair as a part of Bookstore Romance Day, a day dedicated to the genre that “keeps the lights on” and always guarantees you a happy ever after.

We will have 5 local makers joining us for a bookish vendor fair, from 1-4pm so please come out and check out their goodies and think about pairing them with a new book to fall in love with!
