Galena 100 Class divisions and rules:
General Notes
We will be using LiveTime scoring w/ ilap transponders. Ilap require line of sight to work and should be placed visible through a windshield or mounted to the outside of a body/chassis.
Heats will be 3 minutes with 2 rounds of qualifying. Open practice will be from track opening until 15 minutes before racing start time (10am). We may or may not have practice between rounds, depending on turnout/timetable. The vendor show runs until 3, and we want to be into mains by 1:30-2pm for spectator value.
A-Mains will be 100 laps! Lower mains will be 50 laps.
General Rules
• Any class not listed/offered can be run with 5 or more cars. There may be no awards if not committed to by racers ahead of time.
• NO DRIVING ENHANCEMENT DEVICES SUCH AS GYROS, ATX RC TURNED ON OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR DEVICE IS ALLOWED IN ANY CLASS
• Reverse – generally not allowed in racing, but we will allow it for this race. DO NOT BACK UP INTO TRAFFIC or risk being docked laps!
• No overcharging batteries.
o Batteries may be tested before any race, to be no higher than 8.44V
o Batteries must be charged in a LiPo charging bag
• No sharp edges on bodies or components will be permitted for the safety of our turn marshals.
• No illegal drug use on the premises.
Rules of Conduct
• Foul language will not be tolerated.
• No drivers may at any time yell at a turn marshal and at no time may a turn marshal yell at a driver.
• No trash talking
• No intentional wrecking
• No fighting. Competition can and does get intense at times and it can cause tension. Please keep calm, and race on!!
• No leaving trash on the grounds, There are garbage cans and recycling bins available. Please use recycling bins as such.
• Power might be limited, ok to bring a quiet generator for charging
• Have fun!! This race is being held to promote the r/c racing portion of the hobby in general. We want to gain interest in racing, not push anyone away.
Classes:
Losi NASCAR
-3 divisions (Rookie, Sportsman, Pro)
Rookie runs radio in 50% mode (more for kids)
Sportsman is for intermediate drivers (75% mode)
Pro (100% mode)
- Cars should be box stock (including radio, esc, motor)
- Batteries allowed are the stock 2s 1400mah Spektrum or the 2s 1700mah Gens Ace only.
- Any brand non-treaded tire will be ok for this race (Don’t need to go crazy buying fresh rubber, burn up your older sets)
- Any bearing kit is allowed
- Heatsink allowed
- Upgraded motor fan allowed
- Stock gearing (19/59)! Tech reserves the right to ask racer to remove their top plate to show pinion gear size.
- No aftermarket springs, shock limiters, adjustable turnbuckles, or any other aftermarket parts allowed unless specifically permitted by race director.
- Bodies – Any Nascar style stock car/truck body from Losi, Pro-Line (no dirt late model, Viper, Porsche, etc)

Slash Super Stock (Slash based street stock)
- This is essentially a Traxxas Mudboss with a Street Stock/Nascar/Car body from McAllister or Shark or etc.. since this isn't huge around here we'll be lax with the rules, but it should be similar to like bigblock mudboss (13.5, LCG, 2s 5200 50C)
- Same sort of rules - mostly traxxas plastic parts only, shock limiters ok, stock or GTR shocks ok, LCG chassis ok, no adjustable arms
- Open RUBBER tire (no foams), most of us will likely run a slick or street tread
- 13.5 brushless. Blinky ESC.

Breakout
Guys want to run a breakout class like we do in Sherburne, we'll have to figure out what the time should be on raceday.. but if guys want to bring open 1/10 scales like RJ Speed Legends, it could be fun! Guys unfamiliar with Breakout – you run a maximum lap time (say 4 seconds for example), if you go faster than that – your lap does not count. It’s best to run a little slower than the minimum just in case you cut the track, but guys with dialed in radio settings, it makes for the tightest racing you’ll encounter.
Vehicle, battery, tires – everything is OPEN as there is no advantage to going faster.. bring a touring car or something you can drive consistently and have FUN!

Other classes that can be added from surrounding tracks are more than welcome, and we’ll fall back on those track’s rules (1/10 buggy based late model, Crate Late, 360/410 Sprint, Mod SC, etc).
Chime in with what you want to run - if we get 5 entries, we'll run it but we need to know before race day to have awards! In order to have awards – we need a SOLID racer commitment for any class not listed by Labor Day (9/7/26). Any class listed here will have awards printed, but will require at least 3 entries to run.
