We are still alive over here!!
Hiya everyone 👋🏻 it's been a minute since I've posted on this page so I thought I would give a little update.
I've had so many people ask if we are still going to have flowers this year since our lives are a little bit more busy these days with an almost 1 year old...and the answer is yes!! Things certainly look different this year but we have been working hard to try to get some stuff in the ground and I am so proud of the work we have done.
To be totally truthful, I wasn't going to do flowers this year. Between working a full time job and being a new mom I just didn't think it would be possible to find the time. Thankfully I have an amazing husband who not only encouraged me to plant, but helped me get it all done. Becoming a mom has been the most amazing, beautiful thing in the entire world, but as you fellow moms know it is hard to find time to do things you enjoy and were once so passionate about. In planting my gardens this year I slowly started finding myself again. I will always be so amazed at how much peace and joy playing in the dirt brings me. If you are a mom reading this, take this as your sign to do something for YOU!
All of that being said - I did get a lot of seeds started late this year and I didn't do nearly the quantity I've done in the past because, quite frankly, it took me a while to convince myself to do this...but late is better than never! So keep your eyes posted for all of the flowers to come (even if they are a little later than normal). The yarrow is almost blooming and the snapdragons are only a couple weeks out from being ready to cut! We also decided to switch things up this year and planted most of the field in sunflowers! We will still have all of the usual zinnias, strawflower, celosia, feverfew and dahlias as well. I can't wait to watch these grow and get to pick some beautiful bouquets with my daughter!
If you have read this far, thank you 🫶🏻. Your support means the world and I can't wait to see what this season has in store.
