Trader-BOB's MUSIC offers a RARE estate find horn. 1905, serial number 5777, Lyon & Healy American Professional Cornet. Marked "Property of the Erie Railroad Co." Checking online, the Erie Railroad band was formed in Huntington Indiana, in 1915. So if the serial number dating is correct, this horn was 10 years old, when it joined "The Erie Railroad Band". This came from an estate local to Huntington. In great shape for it's age. All 5 tuning slides work(fresh lubrication). All three piston valves are smooth, (freshly oiled). The plating is worn from the pistons. Very few dents, dings. There is space in the case for extra slides, were not with this when I got it. The mouthpiece is unmarked. The bore from the middle piston valve slide measures, .495". The case is in pretty good shape, a few spots in the interior have been taped over. Latches work, no key.
