Our shipping label is printed, and today's package is headed to the state that's home to the lowest, hottest, and driest place in North America. It's a land of incredible contrasts, from towering mountains to breathtaking deserts.

Back at Gnome Hollow, Shame-ish the Gnoughty Gnome was promoted to Pallet Supervisor for today's shipment. Since this was a much larger order than usual, he took his job very seriously...standing on top of the stack with a clipboard, nodding approvingly, and declaring every box "gnome-certified." We didn't have the heart to tell him the clipboard was upside down.

Back at Gnome Hollow, Shame-ish the Gnoughty Gnome proudly volunteered to be today's Packing List Checker. He insisted on counting everything twice...except he kept getting distracted and starting over every time someone walked by. We're still not sure if he ever reached the right number, but he looked very official doing it.

It took a little longer to pack the order, but at least he was enthusiastic.

Back at Gnome Hollow, Shame-ish the Gnoughty Gnome decided he was today's Box Size Consultant. He confidently declared that every order should fit into the smallest box possible. After watching him try to squeeze a candle into a box that was clearly too small, we gently relieved him of his duties...at least until tomorrow.

Adventures in Wisconsin!

We technically only had one afternoon before the Wisconsin State Fair kicked off, so we made every minute count.

Our first stop was the charming English-style village of Wauwatosa. While there, we couldn't resist visiting Café Hollander for a gnome and troll beer while spotting all the little gnomes tucked throughout the restaurant. And those pretzel bites with bier cheese aioli? Absolutely the best we've ever had.

Being pizza lovers, we had to try Capri di Nuovo's Chicago-style pizza. It was loaded with cheese, packed with flavor, and so filling that one slice was all either of us could manage. Good thing we'll be enjoying the leftovers for the next few days!

We also squeezed in a couple of thrift stores before wrapping up the day with a little Polish flair at Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall. A Polish beer, live polka music, and a fun atmosphere made it the perfect way to end our Wisconsin adventure before fair time begins.
