Never too old!
August 2022, marks twenty-two years since becoming a Wycliffe Bible Translators 13 year mission’s counselor. Just two days prior to my 6oth birthday, August 2000, this chapter began. The preparation and process years includes a twenty year military wife, mom of five daughters, and twenty years as a single parent. A divorce, so sad, touches the depth of the inner soul. The training years include forgiveness, healing and growth. Becoming a “whole person” is about completeness, to be separate, and unique. A purposeful life journey includes: learning to trust, stepping out in faith—with a concentrated focus on the “perseverance and intentional” lyrics, along with some blood, sweat, tears and exuberant joy sprinkled in the midst of this ride. God uses each bump, deep or shallow, on the path-way, to boost growth. Who would ever have thought from marriage to “singleness” to “becoming single”--a focused journey of restoration to missions, and a book in 2021, in the eighth decade year? Yes, God, only God, in His awesomeness, miraculous ways! He is our celebration of life. We sooner or later experience His work behind the scenes of life. God is good, and does good, even in old age!
