What's Gina Sewing This Week?
"It's all in the details!" I made this toddler dress to use up the rest of my garage sale mini skirt fabric (still needs a little more pressing). I had the perfect variegated Sulky 30 wt. thread to use for the topstitching and it works beautifully for a quick and easy serger rolled hem. I also decided to put my "made by" label on the outside. So many of our clothes have labels, why not one that says you made it?! I also used the serger to create the layers of the skirt. With the differential feed adjusted I was able to gather and attach the layers without having to pull any gathering threads. Now for a pink tee to go under...

What's Gina Sewing This Week?
Here are a couple tips I used to finish my leggings. I always clip and flip the seam allowances when hemming to eliminate bulk, and sew elastic on with the serger to eliminate rolling and uneven gathers. I'm now sewing size tags into all of my makes so that future wearers will know, and if donated, they won't end up in a land fill or floating in the ocean for lack of sizing.
