What’s actually inside a Brute XD.

- 10 gauge steel body. The thick stuff.

- Heavy 12 gauge handle with anti-pry protection for the lock.

- Heavy duty gas assisted strut, so the lid helps you open it.

- Pick and pluck foam that lifts out in layers and shapes to whatever you store.

- And the part you never see: a heavy duty welded steel cover over the lock, tucked inside the lid behind the foam.

Add an overlapping lid on a continuous hinge with a welded pin, four pre-drilled holes to bolt it down, and a genuine Simplex mechanical lock. CA DOJ approved.

Steel gauge runs backwards. The lower the number, the thicker the steel.

Here’s how it shakes out across some of our lineup:
18 gauge (0.0478 in): Compact
16 gauge (0.0598 in): Tactical Top Draw, Hide-Away
14 gauge (0.0747 in): Quick Vault, Quick Vault XL
12 gauge (0.1046 in): Slide-Away
10 gauge (0.1345 in): Brute XD body

That makes 10 gauge 2.8 times as thick as 18 gauge.

Thicker steel takes more time and more tools to get through. Thinner steel keeps a case small and light. And gauge is only one part of it: even the 18 gauge Compact is CA DOJ approved.

Where does yours go?

In the wall: the Quick Vault and Quick Vault XL recess between studs on 16 inch centers and sit less than two inches off the drywall. Both CA DOJ approved.

On the go: the Hide-Away rides on a quick release mount, the Compact takes an optional security cable, and the Brute XD bolts down through four pre-drilled holes.

Go big: the Tactical Closet Vault stands 53 inches in the wall, the Tactical Weapons Locker XD locks at three points, and the R***e Case mounts horizontally or vertically.

That’s one of our assemblers putting together a Closet Vault PLUS, designed and built right here in our Simi Valley shop.

Quality and reliability come first for us, and they’re a lot easier to guarantee when the work happens under our own roof. We could build it somewhere cheaper. That isn’t the point.

The point is a product you know will work when you need it to. That’s the one thing we aren’t willing to compromise on.
