Q&A:
Q1. What is your name and where are you from?
A: Cheryl Sousa Paddock! From East Haven CT. I received a BSN from Fairfield University, and I have been an RN 36 yrs

Q2: What is your artistic background?
A: None!!! I’ve always loved scent and the way it triggers memories. Did you know that unlike visual, auditory, or tactile signals, smell signals bypass the thalamus (the brain's relay station)? Airborne scent molecules interact directly with the olfactory bulb, which has a direct line to the amygdala (processes emotion) and the hippocampus (processes memory). This is why scent-evoked memories feel significantly more visceral and carry deeper emotional weight than memories triggered by any other sensory cue.

Q3: What inspired you to begin your craft?
A: Covid. I was working for the local VNA and had been sewing masks. When masks became readily available, I needed something to keep my mind occupied after working all day.

Q4: What makes your products unique?:
A: I draw inspiration from the Farmington Valley for my scents. I source everything from the USA and use clean/vegan ingredients that are phthalate/hormone disrupter/carcinogen free. I pour every candle in small batches by hand;)
