As we approach the end of one season and beginning of another, declutter your space responsibly. It's not just a donation bin or a trash bin.🗑️ Be mindful of where you are rehoming your items so they have a positive impact.🌍
In case you're not already aware, donation centers are overflowing with inventory and the inventory itself is becoming of cheaper value.
Donate with intention:
💛combine women's clothing together and donate to a shelter
💛group crafts supply together for the upcoming school year or electronics for a local STEM program
💛pair seasonal clothing to make sorting easier for the staff
💛animal shelters (linens, towels, pillows)
💛professional/work wear to companies like dressforsuccess.org
💛specialized organizations or aid groups (find through a quick internet search)
Always call ahead so they can plan accordingly ☎️
Swap with intention:
🧡online communities that swap within your neighborhood (Buy Nothing Group)
🧡share on your social media to offer to your family and friends
🧡look for events in your area that hosted by an organization
🧡host your own clothing swap with friends, at a university or with mom-friends
Resell with intention:
💚sell them on resale sites yourself (depop, Poshmark, FB Marketplace, eBay, Mercari, etc)
💚have a yard sale do it with friends, on a busy street or during a city celebration
💚resell books online for credits
💚consign clothing for cash at consignment shops
Keep the clothing in circulation, maintain the item and have good resale value💰
Recycle with intention:
For the items that have reached the end of their life, brands like and take clothing with rips or tears, socks, underwear, old linens, etc and recycle them through their partnerships.♻️
The effort is worthwhile because the landfills are full and consumption is at record highs.📈
