📚✨ American Holy Men & Women Spotlight: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton ✨📚

Back to school means it’s the perfect time to celebrate a saint who believed deeply in the power of education! 🍎✏️

🇺🇸 St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was the first native-born American to be canonized a saint. After converting to Catholicism, she devoted her life to teaching and founded the first Catholic girls’ school in the United States.

She also founded the Sisters of Charity, helping lay the foundation for Catholic education and Catholic schools across America.

🙏 As students head back to the classroom, may St. Elizabeth Ann Seton pray for all students, teachers, parents, and school staff—that this year may be filled with learning, friendship, faith, and growth!

🌟 American Holy Men & Women Spotlight: Servant of God Michelle Duppong 🌟

Did you know? Michelle Duppong could become North Dakota's first canonized saint! 🇺🇸

Here are a few things that make her story so inspiring:

🌾 She grew up on a family farm in Haymarsh, North Dakota, where faith, hard work, and serving others shaped her life.

🌿 She earned a degree in horticulture and loved God's creation—flowers, gardens, and the outdoors were some of her favorite places to encounter Him.

🎓 Before working for the Diocese of Bismarck, Michelle spent six years as a FOCUS missionary, helping college students discover a relationship with Christ.

💛 At just 31 years old, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Through every hardship, she became known for her deep peace, joyful spirit, and complete trust in God's will.

✨ So many people were inspired by her extraordinary faith that her Cause for Canonization officially opened in 2022, giving her the title Servant of God.

Michelle reminds us that holiness isn't about doing extraordinary things—it's about living ordinary life with extraordinary love for Jesus.

🌟 American Holy Men & Women Spotlight: Servant of God Nicholas Black Elk
As a Lakota boy, Nicholas Black Elk grew up hunting buffalo on the Great Plains. He later became a devoted Catholic catechist, sharing the Gospel with thousands while remaining deeply rooted in his Lakota heritage.

Black Elk showed that faith and culture can beautifully coexist. He saw God's presence in all of creation and wove together his love for Christ with the rich traditions of his people.

If you're ever traveling through South Dakota, consider stopping by the Akta Lakota Museum in Chamberlain, to learn more about his remarkable life and legacy. It's a wonderful way to experience the story of this inspiring American holy man! ❤️

🌟 American Holy Men & Women Spotlight: St. Edith Stein (St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross)

Born into a devout Jewish family in Germany in 1891, Edith Stein became an atheist as a teenager. A brilliant philosopher, she earned her doctorate in 1916. Everything changed after she read the autobiography of St. Teresa of Ávila in a single night—a moment that led her to embrace the Catholic faith.

During World War II, Edith was arrested by the N***s and died at Auschwitz in 1942. She was canonized a saint in 1998 and is remembered as a powerful witness to truth, faith, and courage in the face of unimaginable evil.

American Holy Men & Women Spotlight: St. Frances Xavier Cabrini 💙

Did you know that St. Frances Xavier Cabrini was the first American to be canonized a saint by the Catholic Church?

Born on July 15, 1850, Mother Cabrini dedicated her life to serving immigrants, orphans, and those in need. Her tireless faith led her to establish an incredible 67 schools, orphanages, hospitals, and charitable institutions across Italy, the United States, and beyond.

In 1950, Pope Pius XII named her the Patron Saint of Immigrants, recognizing her lifelong mission of caring for those seeking a new home.

Here's another amazing fact: Pope Francis has shared that Mother Cabrini's charitable work in Argentina inspired him to become a priest. What an incredible legacy!
