Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins today and Oh My Cupcakes! is supporting the Avera Cancer Institute with your help. The entire month is a tribute to owner Melissa, her sister Kim and to all those who have fought, are currently fighting or will fight to win the battle against breast cancer. Thank you Oh My Cupcakes!

It’s officially October! 🎀 And the Ms. Kim cupcake is in our bakery cases available for pickup, delivery, or advance order.

Kim was Melissa’s sister in law. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993, she did not live to see her 40th birthday. Hard to believe that was over 30 years ago now.

If her story had happened today, the outcome may have been different. Medicine has advanced improved. Kim’s story is one story, but it’s not every story. Thousands—1 in 8, in fact—have heard the words “breast cancer” and every experience is different.
That’s why this month we are launching

Many Stories: One Cupcake.

Throughout the month, you’ll hear about different experiences of those impacted by breast cancer. And throughout the month, we will be working hard to make our own kind of difference, with a portion of every Ms. Kim cupcake, special pink flower bouquet, and Ms. Kim candle we sell going directly to the Avera Cancer Institute.

In our stores very soon, you’ll find an interactive display where you’ll be able to write names and tributes of those you love. You’ll see us on Keloland Living. And we’ll give you opportunities to donate, to round up a purchase, to share your own stories, and many ways to make October one that makes a real difference in future breast cancer stories. We hope you’ll join us.
