A very special neighboring farm morning. 🌸🍷

Lazy Z is teaming up with Roots and Rails Flower Farm for a private U-pick flower experience followed by mead tasting, charcuterie, and a flower arranging workshop at Lazy Z Ranch Wines.

You’ll start the morning at Roots and Rails with a guided flower field tour from Eryn, owner and operator of the farm. She’ll help you choose the best of the best organically grown flowers for your personal arrangement. Buckets and clippers will be provided — just bring closed-toed shoes and your favorite garden gloves.

After the U-pick, we’ll head a few minutes down the road to Lazy Z Ranch Wines for a personal mead tasting, a delicious charcuterie board, and a casual, informative flower arranging workshop in our tasting room using the flowers you picked.

Local flowers. Local mead. Two neighboring farms. One beautiful summer morning.

This week at Lazy Z. 🌄

It has been a hard stretch around Sisters. The immediate fire risk to town has eased, but fires are still burning, some neighbors are still displaced, and a lot of local businesses are feeling the quiet.

If you’re safe and able, this is a good week to choose local on purpose.

We’re open Thursday–Sunday, 12–9 with wine, mead, beer, cider, NA drinks, charcuterie, animals, mountain views, and space to breathe.

Here’s what’s happening:

🎶 Friday, July 31 | 5:30–8 PM
Danilson Duo + Ben Graton opening
Ben Graton opens at 5:30, then Danilson Duo brings soulful harmonies to the ranch. No cover.

🍯 Saturday, August 1 | International Mead Day
Live Music: Lilli Worona + Mike Biggers | 6–8 PM
Celebrate mead, honey, bees, music, and the land that makes it possible. No cover.

Come for a glass. Bring a friend. Buy a bottle. Tip someone. Choose three Sisters businesses this week if you can.

It doesn’t have to be us.
But we’d love to be one of them.

A challenge for everyone who loves Sisters.

First, if you’ve been evacuated, are preparing to evacuate, or are simply trying to get through this week, please take care of yourself and your family first. This isn’t meant for you.

But if you’re in a position to help, here’s one simple idea.

This is normally one of the busiest weeks of the year in Sisters. Instead, wildfire smoke, road closures, and uncertainty have changed what should have been one of the biggest weekends of the summer.

Some businesses have stayed open.

Some have chosen to close.

They’ve all been affected.

So here’s our challenge:

Support three local businesses today.

If you’re in Sisters and you’re up for getting out, stop into three locally owned businesses.

If a business is closed - or today just isn’t a day you want to be out and about - consider buying a gift card instead. It’s a simple way to support them now while giving yourself something to look forward to later.

If you’re not in Sisters, you can still help. Buy a gift card, order something online, book an experience for your next visit, or simply share a favorite Sisters business with someone who should know about it.

It doesn’t have to be us.

Choose three businesses that make this town what it is.

Every purchase helps a local family. Every customer helps a small business weather an unexpected week. Every decision to choose local is an investment in the community we’ll all return to when the smoke clears.

This week has shown what people are willing to do for one another.

Let’s carry that same spirit into our local businesses.

Choose three local businesses today.

If you do, tag them in the comments. Let’s fill this post with great local businesses people can support—this weekend, next week, and long after the smoke has cleared. ❤️

It’s been a difficult week for our community, but it’s also been a week of people showing up for one another.

Tomorrow, Luckey’s Woodsman is bringing a community pig roast to Lazy Z Ranch Wines as a way to care for the people caring for all of us.

Our ranch will be open beginning at noon, and the pig roast will be served from 3–9 PM, or until the food is gone.

If you’re a first responder or have been evacuated or displaced by the fire, this meal is for you. Please come. First responders are welcome to move to the front of the line so they can grab a meal and get back to work if needed.

For everyone else, the meal is pay what you can, with every dollar supporting the Hold the Line Fund so efforts like this can continue when our community needs them most.

There will be bottomless non-alcoholic beverages provided through the Hold the Line Fund, and our tasting room will be open throughout the day with our regular menu of meads, wines, beer, cider, cocktails, and other beverages available for purchase.

If you’re planning to join us, we’d appreciate it if you could carpool when possible. It’ll help us keep parking available for first responders and families directly affected by the fire.

If you can’t make it but would still like to help, donations can be made directly to Luckey’s Woodsman on Venmo.

We know a meal doesn’t solve everything. But sometimes sitting around a table with neighbors, even for an hour, is exactly what a community needs.

As always, conditions can change quickly. We’ll post updates if our plans need to change.

Take care of each other, and we’ll see you tomorrow. ❤️

Fire Update from Lazy Z Ranch

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the Akawa Butte Fire, especially those who have been evacuated or are preparing to leave at a moment’s notice.

Today (Thursday):
We’ll be open 3–8 PM with limited hours. If you need a quiet place to sit for a while, charge your phone, have a meal or drink, or simply get a break from the smoke, you’re welcome here. We have air purifiers running in the tasting room and will do our best to provide a comfortable place for our community.

Tomorrow (Friday):
We are planning to open at 12 PM.

Beginning at 3 PM, Luckey’s Woodsman and C4C will be hosting a pay-what-you-can pig roast fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting the Hold the Line Fund, which provides meals and support for first responders and community members affected by the fire.

The pig roast will continue until 9 PM or until the food is gone. There’s no need to arrive right at 3:00—we have a lot of food planned, so come whenever works for you.

That said, everything is subject to change. The evacuation zone now reaches roughly half of Sisters and is directly across the highway from us. We’ll continue to follow official guidance, and if conditions change, our plans may change too.

Please stay safe, look out for one another, and keep firefighters, first responders, and everyone affected by the fire in your thoughts. We’ll post updates as we have them. ❤️

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the fires around Sisters, Camp Sherman, Black Butte, and the surrounding communities.

To our firefighters, first responders, dispatchers, road crews, and everyone working long hours to protect our communities—thank you. And to everyone who has been evacuated or is anxiously waiting for news, we’re thinking of you.

If you’re in a position to help, now is a good time to check in on friends, neighbors, or family. A spare bedroom, a meal, or even a phone call can make a real difference.

This Friday, Luckey’s Woodsman will be serving a free pig roast at Lazy Z Ranch Wines from 3:00 PM until the food is gone for anyone affected by the fires, as well as the men and women working them. It’s simply one small way to care for the people taking care of our community. More details will be shared soon.

As conditions continue to change, our planned hours and events for the weekend may also change. We’ll post updates here as decisions are made.

Please stay safe, take care of one another, and thank you to everyone helping our community through this. ❤️
