The holidays are keeping everyone busy, myself included. I don't have any plans for an open house anytime soon. Remember - if you would like to come and pick up some fabric, you can reach out to me and we can schedule a day/time that works. It doesn't have to be an open house! But I do need to schedule it, so you can be assured I will be here.

btw.... I made a quilt!

It's been a week since my MP posting brought almost fifty quilters out to Smithfield in search of a great deal on fabric! Since then, I've been super busy carrying loads of fabric into the garage and sorting/shelving everything.

I brought in five shelves full of fabric with DOTS! Everything from microdots to large dots. So many colors, mostly with white dots, some of them tone on tone. I have also brought in another five shelves of white tone on tone fabric, my entire stash of that is now available. Also, more one-yard cuts for $3 have been added. They have been moved to make it easier to sort through them. Adding some pictures for all to see, the shelves are FULL!

Please reach out to me anytime you would like to come look at the fabric. Text 757-439-1909, FB messaging, or email! I can be available the same day most of the time and can always set up a scheduled time for convenience.

I look forward to seeing everyone again. In the meantime, I am going to practice on my longarm!

UPDATE-The MP post was a big success! Thank you to everyone who came out. I have been busy from morning to late afternoon every day for a week. I met so many wonderful ladies who Im sure to see again. The last week has been a ton of fun and I am exhausted! I am taking a break starting Sunday and will keep everyone posted when it’s time to do this again! 🤠

Just launched a Marketplace post for quilters looking for a great deal on fabric! 🧵 There’s enough here to keep a whole village quilting — and every time fabric finds a new home, I bring down more from the stash to keep the shelves full. You’ll always find something new, and the shelves are never empty!

Thank you to everyone who has come out this week! Yesterday was a great day, lots of new faces came to buy fabric. The dinosaur-focused fabric couldn't have found a better match! What a beautiful combination of colors.

So come on out, take your time, and have fun! I have some availability for next week. Let me know when you can come, and I will get you in here!

I'm back from vacation; Colorado was great this time of year. And guess what! I met a quilter on the train, Barb! I am hoping she and her husband come to VA for a visit.

August started with a fantastic day. Thank you to a great group of friends who came to do some fabric shopping, so much fun and so much laughter! And I do love to see bags of fabric going off to become quilts! I would really love to see some of the quilts y'all make with the fabric, feel free to post them here! That would be awesome.

I have refilled the shelves and I'm ready to move some fabric! Remember, you don't have to wait for a posted Open House Event. Please reach out and let me know when you would like to come by. Just yourself or bring a friend, or friends. Small groups and large groups always welcome.

Thank you everyone that came during July open house! A lot of fabric was taken home to become beautiful quilts! I would love to see some of those - please take pics and post them here! One with some darling purple hippos comes to mind!

My vacation takes me to Colorado till the end of July. See y’all in August! Stay indoors, keep cool, and finish a UFO!

UPDATE: It was great to see so many of my fellow Guild members at the open house today. Thank you all for coming and we will do it again! A special HUGE thank you to Grace Little for being such a huge help to me today - and a great friend every day.

Thank you to the Peninsula Angel Quilters for inviting me to host a fabric sale during their Sewcial this past weekend! What a wonderful day. Lots of beautiful fabric was sold and fun was had by all. Nothing like the energy a quilter brings to a room full of sewing machines AND thousands of yards of fabric! These ladies are a lot of fun and sew inspiring!!!

I had been looking forward to quilting when I retired. This huge collection of fabric, notions, patterns, thread, rulers – anything a quilter could ask for came into my life quite unexpectedly and I couldn’t pass up a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The fabric had to come out of the boxes, that was priority. So, the unpacking, sorting, ironing, folding etc. started. One room over the garage in the house converted to a quilting studio, two closets, and the single car garage in the carriage house (air-conditioned) all packed with fabric! That took months!

Before the fabric, I had been fully invested in another project – finishing our new dream house and making it a home. I had to get back to that. It has been a labor of love. And I am finished!

I have been under the radar for a long time and finally the hard part of two huge projects is now behind me. I am so ready to get started on having some fun with all this fabric.
