Today is Wrapping Day!
Getting ready for the Pride Festival on Saturday. The process is quite cumbersome, but so worth it because our Surprise Books look so good!
First, we go through our books. We make sure it's the first book if part of a series, inspect for wear and tear and any writing that may be inside. We try to use only the best used books for our Surprises.
Second, we clean them up: Peel off stickers wipe with alcohol, and shake out the pages. When clean, we take a piece of sticky note and write the title, author, goodreads rating, and our price. This will help us keep track of the books after they are wrapped.
Third, we wrap them up! We stick our logo sticker on, tape the bottom and keep the sticky not on the outside (I've definitely have had to unwrap books to grab that paper). End this step with our new stamp in the upper left.
Fourth, we write the books info! We start with the genre, any notes like age range or if it's part of a series, and then our bullet points to give some clues for you about the book. We end with goodreads on the bottom. We then write the genre on the spine and the prices and codes along with USED or NEW on the back.
Fifth, they get decorated! We add all the goodies to the book. Once secured, they are ready to be displayed and purchased by you!
Sixth, I add all the sticky note info into a spreadsheet so I can keep the titles on hand if someone needs that info.
