The Richmond Whig Newspaper, April 21, 1865. Vol. 1 No. 16. 8 pages. Originally a Confederate paper, relaunched by the occupying forces on April 4, 1865. Uncut folded paper. In this publication it talks about President Lincoln's funeral train and the coffin, assassination conspirators, General Lee's message to his troops and much more including an article written up on the Mound earthworks, the people and artifacts discovered in the Ohio Valley (last picture).
Very cool piece of history, fun to read and look through. I believe I bought this year's back on a picking trip in Virginia. Hope you all are having a nice week!
