🚨TENNESSEE - WE HAVE A PROBLEM. 🚨 tomorrow is decision day

SB0044 is a sneaky attempt to regulate doulas under the guise of TennCare reimbursement. But let’s be clear: this isn’t just about insurance. This bill will force all doulas under a STATE-run board, costing us money, restricting our work, and dictating how we serve families.

The government doesn’t need to be in the business of defining doula work. We are not medical providers. We don’t need permission to do what we’ve always done: support families, without interference.

📞 HERE’S WHAT TO DO:
Call and email the reps on the 💸 Insurance Committee 💸 and tell them to VOTE NO on SB0044. A state-run doula board is unnecessary, costly, and restrictive. Doulas should remain free.

State what is on your heart but here is some information to state:

•We want to register opposition for HB0295/SB044. This bill will harm the Doula profession.
• There is no need for a Doula board creation when we have not heard back from the Doula Services Advisory committee yet.
• We support Doula verification, but a board creation is costly to the state and not needed.
• The majority of other states that provide Doula reimbursement, do it through a verification process, not a state board.
