It is with a heavy heart that we post this message today announcing that, as of July 15, 2024, Smyrna Mowers will be closing the doors and cease to exist.
We have loved serving this community over the past six years, and we are proud of everything we achieved within that time period. We went from a small backyard operation that started with the mission of saving customers money through repair rather than the alternative, buying new equipment. We sought to approach every situation with honesty, clarity and to do right by the customers with what was our best determination for their equipment. This little family-run business grew into what it is today; keeping the same morals and foundational values that made it Smyrna Mowers all along the way, and we believe that we have accomplished that mission through to the end.
There will be much speculation about our closure. “Why now? What caused this,” and so forth. The honest truth is that the current business environment has proved to be tough for small businesses to operate in. The entire business climate is hostile to small businesses and this has led us to conclude that we should close our doors rather than lose what we are as a local business. We would also like to focus on family and spend more time in the community that we have lived in for the past 40+ years.
