Today’s the day the world finally gets to meet Jackie and Antonio. We all know someone like Jackie… fiercely independent, loyal to a fault, fiercely protective, brilliant, beautiful, but also a complete skeptic who will tell you exactly how it is and where you can go. There are so many things I loved about this character, and I often found myself saying out loud, “Girl, if you don’t quit and let somebody love you!”
I also loved the moments of folk magic and root work in this story. It really hit home for me.
I’m trying not to spoil this for you, so you’ll have to read to find out if Jackie can get out of her own way.

💕’Tis the season for Romance!

💫✨ Here’s a little detail about me. I’m new to the romance genre. This was my thought process because I can be an extreme realist and blunt (😩don’t come for me).
I felt like I would be reading about delusion. I thought that things like this wouldn’t happen in real life. That men don’t act like that for real. I know what you’re thinking; News flash! That’s what Fiction is all about: reading about your wildest imagination.

🤎 Tati actually changed that for me because she writes such realistic characters I could relate to. She writes strong, no-nonsense, independent women. She writes swoon-worthy, but reassuring, men. It made me realize that within the romance genre, there are sub-genres, and they are not all the same. So if Romance isn’t your jam, I encourage you to search within the genre and open your mind to fascinating stories.

✨ P.s. I’ll be back with my thoughts when I finish reading about Jackie ☺️
