Welllll… apparently I make very reasonable business decisions like saying YES to a three-day festival at the absolute last minute 😂

I got the chance to jump into the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival this weekend and obviously couldn’t pass it up!

So if you need me, I’ll be down by the water pretending this was all part of the plan. 😆

Fresh out of the molds and officially entering the hardest part… waiting. 💩

I’ve been working on a new line of tallow soaps for Cedar & Sand, including a simple unscented tallow + olive oil bar for sensitive skin and some fun fall-scented bars because the weather is turning so the pumpkin season starts to show up.

They’re cut, they’re looking pretty, and now they’re off to cure before they’re ready to hit the shelves. What smells do you like? Comment below!

More scents and varieties are already in the works, so this is just the beginning.

Now we wait… and wait… and wait.

The Story Behind the Cedar & Sand Logo

There’s actually a lot more meaning behind this logo than you might think..

The cedar tree represents my Lebanese heritage. Both of my parents were Lebanese, and the cedar is the symbol of Lebanon. Since losing both of my parents, it’s become even more meaningful to me as a way to honor them and the heritage they gave me.

Ironically, when we moved into our home, most of the trees on the property had been taken down, but one giant cedar remained right in the front yard. That has always felt a little special to me.

The sand represents Florida, where I was born and raised, and my absolute love for the beach. St. Augustine, especially Anastasia State Park, is my paradise. It’s my little piece of heaven.

It’s where I feel completely at peace, where my heart feels full, and where I can’t help but smile. It’s also incredibly meaningful to me because it’s where my dad’s ashes were spread, and someday, it’s where I want to be too.

The Sand in Cedar & Sand isn’t just about loving the beach. It represents happiness, peace, family, memories, and a place that will always feel like home to me.

And of course, the Highland cow represents the tallow and farm-inspired side of what Cedar & Sand has become.

So no, I didn’t just pick two words that sounded cute together. 😂 There’s a whole lot of family, memories, roots and love wrapped up in this little logo.

Cedar is my roots. Sand is where my heart feels at home.
