This past weekend, I had the incredible honor of designing the flowers for one of the most beautiful weddings. 💐

God has such an amazing way of aligning people and moments. We first met this wonderful family years ago when H went to school at Borden County, and what started as a friendship has grown into something so much more. The mother of the groom has become one of my dearest friends and was even my Walk sponsor last November.

To be trusted with something as important as the flowers on such a special day was truly an honor. Moments like these remind me that this business has never been just about flowers—it’s about the relationships, the stories, and the people God places in our lives at exactly the right time.

Thank you for allowing Among the Thorns to be a small part of such a beautiful beginning. I’m praying God’s richest blessings over your marriage. 🤍

100° outside and I’m out here cutting prickly pear… because my clients deserve more than ordinary. 🌵🔥

Does your florist hike through cactus patches in the Texas heat to hand-pick fresh prickly pear for your arrangement?

I didn’t think so. 😉

Around here, “custom” means getting my hands dirty (and occasionally risking getting poked a hundred times) to make sure your flowers are unlike anything else.

I cannot WAIT to show y’all what these are going into. They’re going to be absolutely incredible… and every single prickly pad will have been worth it. 💛

Beauty really can be found among the thorns. 🌵✨

Stop waiting.

Waiting for someone to apologize.
Waiting for someone to notice.
Waiting for someone to celebrate you.
Waiting for someone to buy you flowers.

Sis… buy the flowers.

Not because no one else will, but because you deserve beauty on a random Thursday just as much as you do on Valentine’s Day or your birthday.

Flowers don’t have to come with a special occasion. Sometimes the occasion is simply that you made it through the week. Sometimes it’s because you’re healing. Sometimes it’s because you looked in the mirror and decided you’re worth celebrating.

So here’s your permission slip:
💐 Buy yourself the bouquet.
Put it on your table.
Smile every time you walk by it.

Because loving yourself isn’t settling—it’s setting the standard for how you deserve to be loved.

And if you don’t know where to find the prettiest flowers… well, you know where I am. 😉🌸

Some days this job gives me emotional whiplash… and today is one of those days.

This morning I had the honor of helping a family say goodbye to someone they love. Now I’m surrounded by wedding flowers for a couple about to say “I do.”

The same hands creating flowers for grief are creating flowers for joy.

It’s a humbling reminder that life is made up of both. And no matter what season you’re in today, God is already there.

Today’s Design & Devotion is one that I poured my heart into, and I hope it meets you exactly where you are. 🌿💐

Sympathy work is, without a doubt, the hardest part of what I do.
No family walks through my door because they’re celebrating. They’re carrying heartbreak, trying to make impossible decisions during one of the hardest moments of their lives.
But it’s also one of the greatest honors.
Every sympathy piece I create represents someone’s mom, dad, husband, wife, child, grandparent, or best friend. These aren’t “just flowers” to me. They’re one final way to say, “I love you.”
Before I begin designing, I often pray that God guides my hands and gives me the ability to create something that brings even the smallest bit of comfort in the middle of unimaginable loss.
When a family smiles through their tears because we captured their loved one’s personality… when they say, “This is exactly what they would’ve loved”… those moments remind me why I do what I do.
Flowers can’t take away the pain, but they can tell a story. They can celebrate a life well lived, honor precious memories, and give a family one last beautiful goodbye.
Thank you to every family who has trusted me during one of the most difficult seasons of your lives. It is a privilege I never take lightly, and I pray that every design reflects not only the love you have for your person, but the love I pour into creating it. 🤍
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

Design & Devotion. Monday edition.

Life is too short to carry around hurt, pride, or words we wish we could take back.

If I’ve ever hurt you, disappointed you, or responded in a way that didn’t reflect the person God has called me to be, I’m truly sorry. That wasn’t my heart, and it’s not who I want to be.

None of us are promised tomorrow. I’d rather choose grace, forgiveness, and love while I still have the chance. ❤️

Y’all… I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t even thought about Homecoming. 😳

And if you know me, you KNOW that’s my jam.

Mums, garters, custom ribbons, all the fun extras… this is one of my favorite times of the year, and somehow it snuck up on me!

So yes… we are officially doing all the Homecoming things! 🎀💐

If you’ve been waiting on me to say something, this is your sign. Let’s get your order on the books before the calendar fills up. You know I don’t do basic, so if we’re doing Homecoming, we’re going BIG.

Go big or go home… and around here, we definitely go big. 🤠🎉

Some days I’m arranging flowers…

Some days God is arranging me.

It’s funny how often I think I know exactly where things belong, and then I end up moving stems around until everything finally comes together. Life has a way of doing that too.

There have been seasons I didn’t understand. Seasons that hurt. Seasons where it felt like God was taking more than He was giving. Looking back now, I can see He wasn’t making a mess—He was making room for something better.

If you’re in one of those pruning seasons, don’t lose heart. The Master Designer has never walked away from a work in progress.

This week’s Design & Devotion is for anyone who needs the reminder that God is still creating something beautiful… even if life feels a little thorny right now. 🌵🌸
