We need to stop using the cruelty of the outside world as an excuse to be harsh with our kids inside our own homes. The idea that we have to harden them, emotionally isolate them, or make them cynical just to "prepare them for reality" is a lie. All that really does is break their spirit before they even get a chance to live.
A hardened heart isn’t strong; it’s just numb. When we meet our kids with coldness under the guise of building resilience, we aren’t protecting them — we are just passing down the same generational wounds that made the world so cold in the first place.
True, unshakeable strength comes from a child who knows they are fiercely loved and safely anchored at home. That security doesn't make them soft. It makes them dangerous to the status quo.
We don't need to raise children who know how to blend into a heartless society. We need to raise disruptors. We need kids who are so securely rooted in their own empathy that they can walk into a dark room and completely change the temperature.
Defend their warmth at all costs. In a world built on cynicism, softness is now a superpower — and the most radical thing we can do is hold on to our humanity and choose to stay kind. ❤️
