Meet Noah Kent, a proud member of our Brunswick store who helps ensure every donation is handled with care, creating opportunities that support Goodwill Northern New England's mission and strengthen communities across northern New England.

Every day, Noah plays an important role in connecting community donations to a greater purpose. By receiving and processing donated goods, he helps turn everyday items into funding for programs and services that support people throughout the region.

What motivates him most? The people he works alongside and the supportive environment that makes Goodwill feel like a place where everyone can succeed.
"I really enjoy the people I work with here, I feel support here, and I enjoy my job. I'm proud of myself, and I'm proud of my coworkers. I am proud to work at Goodwill."

For Noah, one of the most rewarding parts of his job is being part of a team that supports one another while working toward a shared mission. Knowing that his work helps create opportunities for others gives each day added meaning.

Noah is proud of the work he does, the team he works with, and the impact Goodwill makes in communities across northern New England. That sense of pride, support, and purpose is why he enjoys coming to work each day.

Stay tuned later this month for Noah's story, where we'll share more about his journey through our Work Readiness Bootcamp program and what working at Goodwill means to him!

As we continue recognizing National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), we're proud to share James' story.

For James, cooking has always been a passion. With support from Goodwill Northern New England's workforce services team, he transformed that passion into meaningful employment at Applegreen's Kennebunk South Travel Plaza.

Today, James helps prepare food for the Sbarro restaurant in the plaza while continuing to build confidence, develop new skills and grow within his role.

His supervisor describes him as dependable, hardworking and someone whose positive attitude brightens the workplace. Perhaps most importantly, he says James has "really found his place."

Stories like James' remind us that employment is about more than a paycheck. Meaningful work creates opportunities to build confidence, contribute to a team and discover what's possible.

As we celebrate NDEAM, we're proud to highlight the talent, dedication and contributions of employees like James.

This year's theme, "Celebrating Value and Talent," shines a light on the skills, contributions, and achievements people with disabilities bring to the workforce every day.

At Goodwill Northern New England, we see that value and talent in action through team members like John Arsenault. After experiencing a traumatic brain injury more than 40 years ago, John rebuilt his life through determination, support, and opportunity. Today, he's been a valued member of the Goodwill team for nearly 20 years, brightening our stores with his warm smile and dedication to customers.

John's story is a reminder of what's possible when people are given the opportunity to succeed.
