Chateau Sonoma brings Vintage French style to Sonoma, we have an eclectic lifestyle mix of French vintage finds and antiques, home accessories, bed and bath products with a dash of local Sonoma artisan products. Our style is a savvy blend of rustic and chic, true vintage and new vintage, patina and shine. We feature one of a kind french antique furnishings and we import many gift and tabletop coll

ections from France such as Astier de Villatte, Mistral and Vox Populi lighting. We have tabletop collections from Juliska, Pom Pom table linens and an assortment of glassware both vintage and new. We carry beautiful candles, hand milled soaps and lotions, napkins, party invitations and cards as well as hostess gifts. We also carry the work and collections of Sonoma artists, artisans and jewelry makers.

The sunflowers put on quite a show at the farm this year. 🌻

We grew Royal Hybrid sunflowers from seed, and now, at the tail end of their season, I wanted to share the simple way I condition them after cutting so they last beautifully in the house.

There’s something so satisfying about watching them go from tiny seeds in the greenhouse, to towering blooms in the field, to an armful on the cutting table, and finally into a favorite vase.

Next year we’re going to try Vincent’s Choice and Sunrich Orange Summer too. Already dreaming about those rows of summer color.

One of my favorite things about limelight hydrangeas? They don’t just have a beautiful vase life, they keep giving long after summer is over. 🌿

After harvesting, we remove the leaves, cut the stems at a 45° angle, condition them in a cool, dark place with FloraLife Flower Food 300, and then enjoy them fresh in the shop.

The best part? As the water disappears, we simply let them dry naturally. They become gorgeous dried hydrangeas that we use to decorate Chateau Sonoma for months.

Today we celebrate Sam—our Leo, our king of the jungle, and one of those rare people who truly seems capable of anything.

What doesn’t Sam do? He grows the most beautiful heirloom tomatoes, tends the lavender fields, cares for every creature on the farm, fixes absolutely anything, solves every problem and throws the very best parties.

He is a farmer, a craftsman, an animal whisperer and a true force of nature—someone who feels as though he sprouted straight from the earth. Plants flourish under his care, animals instinctively trust him, and everything he touches becomes better.

But what makes Sam so special goes far beyond all that he can do. He is a devoted family man, an incredible father, a wonderful husband and someone who has truly become part of our family here at Chateau Sonoma.

Sam, we could sing your praises all day and still never quite capture everything you bring to our farm, our work and our lives. We are so grateful for you.

Happy birthday to the one and only Sam. Today, we celebrate all things Sam. 🦁🌿🍅🐐✨

There is something so satisfying (and therapeutic!) about distilling our own lavender oil in the copper still. 🪻✨

It takes quite a bit of fresh lavender... and a whole lot of patience just to siphon off that tiny bit of pure essential oil, but the scent alone makes it so worth it!

You see the lavender. I see Samuel.

Finishing the final harvest, tying fresh bundles, making us laugh—and offering his very honest opinion about how loud our pruners are. 😂

Samuel does so much to keep this place we call home beautiful and thriving. He cares for the gardens, the vineyard, the orchard, the lavender fields, and just about anything else we put in front of him.

He arrives with a smile, a can-do attitude, and a gratitude for life that never ceases to amaze me. He is hardworking, devoted to his family, and truly exceptional at everything he does.

He recently became a U.S. citizen, and we could not have been prouder.

We are so lucky to have him and every fresh lavender bundle arriving at the shop carries a little bit of his hard work and heart.

Although, for the record, Samuel still prefers his Felcos. 💜
