We spend a lot of time planning every project, labeling everything, testing systems, teaching our clients how everything works, cleaning up, and making sure every last detail is right. That’s always been important to us, so it’s nice to know our clients notice it too.

And honestly, our team deserves all the credit. They take a lot of pride in what they do, and it’s rewarding being able to share messages like this with them.

Big windows are beautiful… until the sun shows up. ☀️

One of the things these homeowners loved most about their home was the natural light and the incredible views.

The challenge was that with expansive windows came a few trade-offs: glare on the TVs, rooms that heated up throughout the day, and less privacy when the sun went down.

To solve that, we installed 18 custom Lutron motorized shades designed specifically for the space.

When they want the view, the shades disappear almost completely (as you’ll see at the end of the video).

When they want less glare, more privacy, or a cooler room, they can lower individual shades or every shade in the house with the touch of a button, using a Lutron remote or the Lutron app.

Better yet, the system can be programmed to do it automatically. The shades can open in the morning to let in natural light, close during the hottest part of the day to help keep the home comfortable, and lower again in the evening so the neighbors don’t accidentally become part of movie night. 😄

Or skip the remote altogether. If you’re anything like me, it’s never where you left it anyway. Just use your voice. The shades can be controlled with Amazon Alexa or integrated into a Josh.ai smart home system for effortless control.

It’s one of those upgrades people don’t usually think about when they first start planning a project. But once it’s installed, it quickly becomes one of the features they use every single day.

Why do we do things differently?

Honestly… it comes down to where I started.

Before AVTech Specialists, my background was in IT—not traditional AV. That taught me to think beyond just getting something installed. Build it right. Document it. Organize it. Make it reliable. Build something that’s going to last.

When I started AVTech, I wanted those same principles to become the standard—not just for me, but for everyone on our team.

That’s why we’re so particular about the details. Clean wiring matters. Labels matter. Planning matters. Those aren’t extras—they’re the standards we hold ourselves to on every project.

If we’re doing our job right, everything should work exactly the way it’s supposed to… and you shouldn’t have to think about the technology. It should simply work.

One of my favorite parts of what we do is taking a space that isn’t working the way it should and transforming it into something clean, organized, and built around the people using it.

(And admittedly, I’ll never stop appreciating a perfectly organized network rack. 😅)

Whether it’s a living room, an office, a school, or a business, there’s something really rewarding about seeing it all come together—and knowing our team built something that’s going to serve people well for years to come.

That’s why we bring the same commercial-grade mindset we use for businesses into every project we do. We believe every client deserves that same level of planning, organization, and attention to detail.

At the end of the day, we’re not just installing TVs, cameras, or Wi-Fi.

Most people think we just mount TVs… 😅

Truth is, that’s barely scratching the surface.

Yeah, we’ve been a little quiet on here since May… but behind the scenes? We’ve been BUSY.

One day we’re cleaning up wire nightmares that look like someone dumped a bowl of spaghetti behind a network rack.
The next, we’re building out home theaters, dialing in surround sound, installing outdoor TVs, lighting up homes after dark, and bringing smart home setups to life.

This is what AVTech actually does.

And honestly?
The best part is seeing the moment everything finally comes together.

The clean finish.
The hidden details.
The “okay WOW… this completely changed the room” reaction.

That’s the stuff we love.

So consider this the official re-introduction to AVTech. 👋
