Floral Assistant
Puryear’s Florist is seeking a dependable, creative, and customer-oriented Floral Assistant to join our team! This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the floral industry while helping us create and deliver beautiful flowers for life’s special moments.
This is a part-time position, approximately 20-30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. No floral-design experience is necessary—we're happy to train the right candidate.
What You’ll Do
These responsibilities include typical floral-assistant tasks: flower processing and arrangement assistance, customer service, delivery, inventory management, and keeping the work area tidy.
• Assist with preparing fresh flowers, greenery, containers, ribbons, and supplies.
• Learn to process, condition, water, and care for fresh-cut flowers and plants.
• Help create, package, and prepare floral arrangements for daily orders, holidays, sympathy work, weddings, and special events.
• Safely load, transport, and deliver flowers, plants, and gifts to homes, businesses, funeral homes, and event venues.
• Provide friendly, professional service as a representative of Puryear’s Florist.
• Assist with shop maintenance, including organizing supplies, cleaning workspaces, washing buckets, and keeping the cooler and design area tidy.
• Assist customers in the shop and help with phone or online orders as needed.
• Help receive, stock, and maintain floral and gift inventory.
What We’re Looking For
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive for local deliveries.
• A dependable, punctual individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail—flowers and gifts must arrive looking beautiful.
• Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload floral arrangements, plants, boxes, and supplies.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional busy holidays or weekends.
• Floral, retail, delivery, or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
