“it’s going to be a hot one ride”🤣. Thursday June11th. Finally a sweltering day— perfect to get out on the bikes. We left home this morning a little before 10am— headed out Clinton Hwy and stopped to fill up and have our breakfast snack. After that, we continued north on Clinton Hwy to East Wolf Valley— then took Mountain View which took us to Shady Valley and on over to Norris Freeway. We rode Norris north and then took the River Road which runs underneath the dam and then on into Rocky Top. We then rode to Norris Dam and came back to 61 and headed thru Andersonville and on to Big Ridge State Park. We continued on 61 — switchback after switchback — and ended up at 33 just south of Maynardville. We rode into town— then took 144 over to Plainview— straight into Corryton and then over to Blaine. From there we rode Indian Ridge back to 11W and on up to Rutledge— where we stopped at the Down Home ( one of our favorite restaurants— always great food and friendly staff ). After lunch, we rode 92 to Slide Effects to see David Hurst ( he paints all those beautiful bikes you see in Biker Rags, including the bikes we rode today). After that we took 92 to Cherokee Dam and then finally headed back to Knoxville. We got home around 5pm and our total ride was right at 167 miles. 93 degrees— full sunshine— summer is finally here😀.
