rarrr! posting about what we do always feels so scary and so i procrastinate until i feel so stressed that i haven’t posted in forever and i get to the point where i feel the whole world has forgotten we exist. haha it’s ludicrous, but i know that at least one other creative person out there shares this fear of mine, I’m sure of it. this stuff is hard.

at the Tory Burch Foundation fellowship last week, i had a little breakthrough. i realize i have been so afraid to tell our story because this business is so tightly wound to my soul. putting myself, this business, in a place where my little soul is out in the world for anyone to critique feels unbearably scary. it feels like risking my identity. as I sat in the room with beautiful, passion-driven women i started to feel less scared. all of these women took a risk to follow their dreams and build a business not because the p+l told them it was a good idea, but because they believed in themselves…and they are all crushing it.

i have never not believed in little fox. we have chosen the hard path every time because we knew it was the right path *for us*. I chose to make our ice cream from scratch because it was how i could best represent the product I wanted to make. it was the way i could build an ice cream company where we could make exactly the ice cream we wanted to make without compromising a thing. everyone told me i was crazy-stupid even, and there were *easier* ways to do things. they were right. but luckily I found the most amazing people like Taylor Katie and Camille who knew I was crazy but were willing to take the leap of faith and build this thing with me.

so now i am putting my big girl pants on and i am going to be brave. i am going to start telling you about our ice cream…all about it. and all the incredible things we do to make our product. I will share with you the ways it is different to what everyone else makes, and i will learn to be ok with the fact that not everyone is going to like what we do. i hope you follow along

the buttercream is flowing and your cake orders are ROLLING in. hip hip!! we love cakes. if you need a last-minute dessert plan for your bbq this weekend, fear not! our lil freezer is STOCKED at both shops…at least for now. these lil’ beauties seem to be flying off the shelves these days.

thank you for giving it your all. for trying your best. for showing up on the hard days. and helping celebrate the best days. for leading with you heart. and putting love behind everything you do. we certainly wouldn’t be here without you, and the world is so much better with you.

this Mother’s Day we are giving away 60 Let The Eat Cake Pints served with a couple of cookies and a small bouquet. we urge you not to share! this is a sweet moment designed just for you. we have 10 handmade glass cookie jars for the first few moms who grace us with their presence (5 per shop) and gift bags for those who follow.

hey friends!!

something so neat is happening at our shop this week!! and are using our little shops as a platform to announce their permanent partnership. The funds that you all help the raise each year will now go to help feed families all across this beautiful county

we were so honored to have the opportunity to help share this news with you, that we have created a bruleed tangelo ice cream using fresh produce straight from the farm. we are calling ‘butterfly effect’ as a ode to their partnership and the effect our joint efforts can have on our community.

not only that! we are donating ice cream to thank anyone who visits our shops and donates to the feeding San Diego foundation between Wednesday and Sunday this week. so hoof it on down and help us feed San Diego!!!

rumor has it, our friends from will be around Wednesday morning supporting the efforts to serve food to families across the county. this is pretty much the best news because we just love this farm, and also the other incredible farmers across the city working to feed our communities.

it is such an honor we are able to be apart of this community in such a way. we cannot wait to share our ice cream with you in thanks for helping us out this weekend!!

woohoo!! it’s spring! unless you count yesterday. 95 degrees certainly constitutes a summer day, hands down. either way! it’s a good time for ice cream here in san diego. AND we have been gearing up for sure.

this season we bring you 5 new flavors allll with the california superbloom as their backbone. we can’t wait for you to try them all and let us know what flavor has you turning your clock to ‘ice cream hour’ again and again!

superbloom:: carrot cream + saffron threads + local honey + poppy seeds (inspired by the )

all that jazz:: jasmine pearl cream + fresh ginger + ginger orange custard (inspired by the fragrant Jasmine vines perfuming the city streets)

spring fling:: match cream + lime zest + organic coconut milk

happy hour :: elderflower cream + guava

cherry bomb :: toasted cherrywood cream + tart cherry swirl + macadamia nut clusters (inspired by the cherry blossoms just coming into season)
