One of the sweetest and most mysterious fosters we’ve ever had is baby Pumpkin, who was found wandering alone in the Bronx during that heavy rainy spell last month.

It’s rare to have a puppy we know nothing about, and unlike older mysterious rescue dogs it can be hard to match him to the perfect home when we have no idea how big he might be!

We’ve decided to turn this challenge into an opportunity, and are offering prizes for guessing the right breeds before his DNA test results come in.

$5 per breed guess, 100% goes to the rescue. Prizes awarded for correct guesses, and one randomly selected entry will win a prize no matter what they guess!

It’s Frank, who is 19 years old!!

Frank enjoyed the banana lactose free ice cream but since he’s a little sensory impaired, I think next time we’ll make him the chicken flavor so it has a more recognizable odor.

Final resident product tester: Brutus Buster Brown.
No big dog in a small body here. He’s tiny and he knows it and he’ll look you straight in the eye as he jumps over every gate in the house.
Brutus is a fable when it comes to treats: he’s more likely to grab as many as he can at the risk of enjoying none than take one and actually eat it.
He also has a big secret crush on Birdie.

Birdie is a one year old sh*tzu mix who showed up in front of the house a few months ago and has ruled the home ever since.
Bird is a stereotypically confident small dog who loves an angus beef knuckle even though they’re bigger than her head.

Meet the product testers!
This is Max, who’s 1-2 years old and looks like a big dog shrunk down because he’s half chihuahua and Yorkie, half cattle dog, Eskimo dog, and lab. He’s a classic big dog in a little body who loves when we have goldens and doodles over for playdates, and enjoys coming to work to help us walk anxious dogs.
Max is a “take now, think later” sort of dog who gets excited about just the possibility of treats. This enthusiasm means I can frequently delight him by just tossing ice cubes for him to catch.

Product tester number 2!
Ctrl+c then ctrl+v all of Jesse’s demographics because this is his brother!
Having been rescued together, we thought they were “brothers” and knew for sure that they were bros. But DNA testing done years apart confirmed them as true siblings!
Butters is a clever boy who absolutely loses all his marbles over a mini tennis ball or the automatic bubble machine. He loves to love our angus beef bones, but never hoards and guards selfish amounts of them like some other dogs we know.

The shop is now open for our soft launch and no surprise that these lactose-free dog ice creams are an instant top seller!
I haven’t bought ice cream for my dogs in the past because frankly, real estate is a tight market in my freezer. But these single serving cups (4 oz each) have high-quality shelf-stable ingredients, so they’re happy in the pantry! When you’re ready for a frozen treat just add water, replace the lid, shake, and freeze for a few hours. Imported from Italy, with several flavors available (🐔🍦).

Meet the product testers!
Jesse is a senior Pekingese/Pomeranian/Daschund mix who grew up in Louisiana and moved north after one of the major storms displaced his family.
Jesse loves catching bubbles and chasing hose water.
He’s not a big fan of crunchy biscuits and is generally a pretty shy treat guy, always taking a few seconds to sniff before tentatively committing to putting things in his mouth. And even then sometimes gently spitting them out again. 😁
