Yesterday was Read Across America Day & just like always Declan and I tackled a stack of books! These two were our favorite from last night book sesh.

Declan loves everything Poppy and Sam! This book is so beautiful! It has popular fairy tales inside 💜 last night we read Sleeping Beauty.

I was shocked how much I loved If You Plant a Seed. Oh mylanta, it is amazing & a must take out from the Parkersburg Library! This is one of the books of our 1000 Hours Outside March reading list. Declan is obsessed with planting things & watching them grow so I thought this would be perfect. It was, and then some! Not only does it talk about planting regular seeds, but also goes into what happens if you plant seeds of selfishness versus seeds of kindness. 😍

Pretty sure my mind is 99.9% made up to homeschool Declan starting next year.

When he started having big emotional disregulation difficulties in daycare a couple months ago I called everyone to seek assistance and guidance navigating the difficult times.

One call was to Birth 2 Three, I was directed there by the Columbus crisis line since he is a graduate of their program. They suggested getting him evaluated through the board of education to receive assistance with therapies like OT and possibly Speech.

Declan had his evaluation with the board of education yesterday & her unofficial answer to his anger outbursts is essentially that he has a big brain, is extremely bright & above his peers (especially where numbers are concerned) and he gets too bored surrounded by kids his own age & learning what they are learning.

I definitely don’t want to squash his big brain sticking him with a one size fits all style education. He doesn’t fit into that box.

Today is our first outing with the local homeschool community! We’re going to the planetarium & we both are super excited!! Here’s to new beginnings and adventures with Declan 🥰📚

Declan had a blast at the planetarium today! This Momma left her phone in the car so there were no distractions during this time I shared with Declan. These awesome photos were taken of the show we watched by a dear friend who shared them with me!

Declan already asked if we could go back tomorrow or over the weekend with bubby. It hurt to tell him no, but I’m excited after spring break Marietta college is thinking of putting on public shows again! So we will be back under the stars in the planetarium before long! 🥰✨🌟☄️🌌

Honestly, I had so many people ask me how this book was, that I can’t remember all who asked. Well, I just finished it & as soon as I can I’m rushing over to Books-A-Million to order the other two in the series.

This book took so many unexpected turns and had me at the edge of my seat guessing until the end.

The main character is Pippa, a high school senior who is working on what’s called her Capstone project. It’s a big, final project seniors work on. They can pick any topic they want. She picks the “solved” murder of student Andie Bell that happened 5 years ago. Pip has a strong feeling the person who everyone thinks mirdeted Andie, didn’t. But he isn’t around anymore to defend himself. She befriends Ravi, the younger brother of Sal, the boy authorities think killed Andie. And together they solve the murder, and a couple other related crimes.

Five of five stars!! Love it so much! You need to read this book!!
