Long-fin Super Red reveal! 🟠✨

​Taking a closer look at the 20-gallon breeding tank today, and we have to start with this absolute stunner. We have been raising her for about 4 months, and at only 10-12 months old, her trailing fins are incredible and her solid color is glowing! She is going to be a massive piece of our future breeding projects. 😤

2 Week Angelfish Fry Update! 📈🐠

​We are officially at the two-week mark with the Red Devil Koi angelfish fry! They are all free-swimming, eating incredibly well, and already putting on some noticeable size. It is so awesome watching this brand-new project develop. 😤

4 Month Super Red Update! 📈🟠

​It has been a little bit since we checked in on these guys, so let’s get an update. The Super Red BNP fry are about 4 months old now! This is the exact point (usually between 4-6 months) where we can truly start seeing their solid orange colors permanently lock in. They are looking absolutely incredible! 😤

Incredible parental behavior! 😳🐠

​A lot of people think the parents are eating the babies when they do this, but watch closely! The fry are just starting to swim away, and this first-time Red Devil Koi dad is gently scooping them up and spitting them right back onto the breeding cone to keep everyone safe. He is doing a fantastic job! 😤

My heart completely dropped this morning! 😳🐠

​I came into the fish room and saw that the breeding cone was totally empty. But when I looked closer at the bottom of the tank, I spotted them—we have wigglers!

​It is both the parents' first time and my first time caring for angelfish fry, so I am heading into uncharted territory. If any experienced breeders have tips or tricks for getting these guys past the wiggler stage, let me know in the comments! 😤

We officially have eggs! 🥚🐠

Only one week after moving this Red Devil Koi pair into their own tank, they successfully laid their clutch right on the breeding cone. I am incredibly excited to see this project officially taking off. Fingers crossed for some wigglers soon! 😤

Did we just get a breeding pair?! 👀🐠

​I noticed these two Red Devil Koi spending a lot of time together, cleaning off a flat spot, and defending their territory. Those are classic breeding signs! I decided to move them into their own tank so they have a safe space to spawn. Fingers crossed we see some eggs soon! 😤

15 weeks old and looking amazing! 📈

​At almost four months old, these Super Red BNP fry are absolutely thriving in the 10-gallon tank. Both batches are putting on serious size, and that solid orange color is glowing. 😤

Massive new fish reveal! 🐠🔥

​I have been eyeing these for months and actually kept them a secret in the fish room for a little over a month now! I am incredibly excited to finally show off this stunning group of Red Devil Koi Angelfish. The red and orange coloration on these guys is already looking amazing. This is going to be a major new project for DFM Aquatics! 😤
