THIS GPU HAS SEEN SOME THINGS.

Another piece of old-school hardware is on the TechTastic Treasures repair bench.

We’ve got this graphics card completely torn down, and it’s a perfect reminder of just how much PC hardware has changed over the years.

Multiple DVI outputs.
A massive heatsink.
A whole lot of thermal paste.
And plenty of miles on this old warrior.

We’re giving it the full treatment: teardown, cleaning, fresh thermal material, inspection, and testing.

Modern graphics cards may leave this one in the dust performance-wise, but there’s something satisfying about bringing older hardware back to life.

Don’t write off that old PC or GPU just yet. Let us take a look first.

😂 YEP… ADD ANOTHER ONE TO THE “HAVEN’T SEEN THAT BEFORE” LIST.

We’ve seen dust.
We’ve seen pet hair.
We’ve seen crumbs.
We’ve seen just about every kind of debris imaginable.

But chunks of dirt inside a console?

That’s a new one.

And here’s the fun part: this isn't just dust buildup. Looking at this, some of this dirt appears to have gotten wet at some point and dried into clumps.

Which means there’s a pretty good chance this console was introduced to mud before it was introduced to our workbench.

Every repair teaches us something new, and somehow we’re still finding ways to say:

“Well… we haven't seen THAT before.”

Needless to say, this one is getting a serious deep clean before we even think about putting it back together.

👽 A TRUE RELIC OF THE PC GAMING WORLD JUST LANDED ON OUR BENCH.

Before today's Ryzen 7s, Core i9s, RTX 5090s and glass-sided RGB monsters…

There was Alienware.

And this Aurora R4 was once the kind of machine gamers dreamed about.

Big case.
Big power supply.
Serious enthusiast hardware.
Alienware's unmistakable design.
And enough cooling and expansion room to make today's tiny gaming PCs look a little boring. 😂

This machine comes from an era when having an Alienware sitting under your desk meant you had THE gaming PC. 👽🎮

Fast forward more than a decade and this old warrior has definitely seen better days.

There's dust.
There's age.
There's some hardware that has been through the battlefield.

But we're not ready to send it to retirement just yet.

It's on our bench for repair, diagnosis, and a little TechTastic TLC.

We're going to see if we can bring this old-school gaming legend back to life.

Because sometimes you don't replace the relic…

You RESTORE it.

📢 **IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT — TEMPORARY CLOSURE**

We wanted to give our TechTastic Treasures family a heads-up that we will be **temporarily closed September 3rd through September 12th.**

WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES. WHAT MATTERS IS HOW YOU HANDLE THEM.

At TechTastic Treasures, we take pride in doing quality work—but we're also human, and occasionally, mistakes happen.

While reassembling a customer's console for testing, one of the ribbon cables was accidentally damaged. The console passed our testing, but unfortunately, when the customer went to use it later that evening, it would not fully power on.

We could have tried to explain it away. Instead, we owned it.

We replaced the damaged ribbon cable completely free of charge and got the console back up and running.

More importantly, we believe being a trustworthy repair shop means being honest when something goes wrong. We work hard to prevent mistakes like this, but when one does happen, we believe the right thing to do is:

Own it.
Fix it.
Make it right.
Learn from it.

We're grateful for customers who trust us with their devices, and that trust means more to us than simply getting a repair out the door.
