This year's theme, "Celebrating Value and Talent," shines a light on the skills, contributions, and achievements people with disabilities bring to the workforce every day.

At Goodwill Northern New England, we see that value and talent in action through team members like John Arsenault. After experiencing a traumatic brain injury more than 40 years ago, John rebuilt his life through determination, support, and opportunity. Today, he's been a valued member of the Goodwill team for nearly 20 years, brightening our stores with his warm smile and dedication to customers.

John's story is a reminder of what's possible when people are given the opportunity to succeed.

Join us this month as we celebrate the value and talent of people with disabilities and help create a more inclusive workforce for all. Learn more about Goodwill's mission and the impact of employment opportunities at goodwillnne.org.

Meet Kes Flye, a Sales Associate at our Ellsworth store who helps create a welcoming shopping experience while ensuring customers can find quality items at affordable prices.

Every day, Kes plays an important role in supporting Goodwill Northern New England's mission by assisting customers, maintaining the sales floor, and helping turn donated goods into opportunities that strengthen communities across northern New England.

What motivates her most? Being part of a workplace where people genuinely care about one another while making a positive impact in the community.

"Goodwill is like an extended family to me. I am always having a good time working here. I like how Goodwill helps people and provides meaningful jobs, and it's a welcoming place to work."

For Kes, the relationships she has built with her coworkers are one of the most rewarding parts of her job. Knowing that her work helps support people throughout the community gives every day a deeper sense of purpose.

Meet Payton Rotta, an employee at our Ellsworth store who helps make every donation count while creating a welcoming experience for community members who choose to give their items a second life.

By accepting and sorting donations, Payton plays an important role in turning donated goods into opportunities that support Goodwill Northern New England's mission and help strengthen communities across northern New England.

What motivates him most? Knowing that his work has a purpose and seeing the positive impact it has on others every day.

"Goodwill doesn't feel like any other job I've had. Everything I do here has purpose. I go home every day feeling really good about the impact I am having and the relationships I'm building here."
